Hi everyone. Can someone tell me about the initial charging of this phone's battery? Do you have to drain it first before charging it? How long is the initial charge gonna be? Do you have to put up with 3 or more "perfect" charging cycles to achieve the battery's optimum performance?

- got lots of questions about the batter because apparently, many people complain about it. We need to sort the problems on hardware and owner usage.

- Can you also comment on how the battery would last long as correlated with the cellphone activities i.e. WIFI use, taking pictures, music, applications, ...

Thanks...

Dear Unnamed friend,

Let me correct you...
GPRS and GPS are two different things..

This phone doesn't have GPS...
But it has GPRS if anybody wants it...

I'm not using either 3G or GPRS to browse internet..

I have wifi in my office and this phone works best with Wifi...! Just great...

I have all i want in this small beauty...

This phone is AWESOME! :D
Bought it a week ago for quite an expensive price, but it's still worth it.

Nokia did a great job. In fact, almost anyone can enjoy the Symbian Series 60 5th Edition with a price tag this cheap. The phone works the same as Nokia 5800 and N97, except for 3G, WiFi and a few more.

Even though the phone has no 3G and GPRS, I am still very satisfied. I don't use much of paid services anyway. (I am "stingy" when it comes about money :P). So even if I have a 5800 in my hand right, I probably would not touch the 3G function and GPRS. I don't even think Sarawak (Malaysia region) has 3G service for Digi (Correct me if I'm wrong).

I would recommend anyone or everyone to get this phone if you don't mind about the lack of 3G or GPRS.

Dear Anonymous friend,

You're true if you're trying to say that Nokia 5800 is a great phone.. Yes.. Indeed it is.. But can you say any matter I said is not true...?
In fact in your description there's one wrong thing..

About kinetic scrolling... Yes.. 5800 definitely achieve it from a recent future firmware update..

But brother... Touch screen response...!
No way...!
Because it's hardware thing and unless you change the 5800 touch sensor you'll not be able to change the sensitivity...

However after all both are great phones... Sorry if I've hurt anybody using 5800... Because I just said my personal opinion... And when I said it's thicker, heavier, older, chubbier it's not my opinions... They are facts...

However there may be people who like big, fat phones with heavy feel... I completely respect their preference towards it...

But personally I find the less featured 5530 is very very sexier than 5800... No offense please... This is my personal opinion...

And when I consider the price difference between them... I will not even look at 5800... I hope you'll understand... (I haven't ever required 3G or GPS... But about longer battery life... Yeah... In that case I agree 5800 is better... But if you want that battery in 5530 then you'll have to bear the reality of a rather thicker phone...)

Best regards...

Dear Nuwan,

There r other differences apart from 3G and GPS such as, bigger display(for better internet) and better battery life and more free phone memory.
5530 has KS and better touch response, these can be brought into 5800 by a firmware update but the features 5800 has, these cannot be implemented into 5530 in any ways, You will have to buy a new handset, if you require those in the future.

Hope you understand.

Why the hel... morei think the same as you about the useless of pay the double for the 5800 for almost the same apllications and a bigger screen and 3g but to upgrade the firmware you had to use the nss cause the ovi suite tells me that theres no new actualization for the 5530 its a shame cause is 10.0 version mine here in mexico, I dont doubt about the better functions and performance with new firmware but ,. how can I get a new numbre imei to upgrade?????/
