joanne, 14 May 2011thanks for the answer, jett :)
Now, can i ask if what are the problems in this phone??it's ok. sure, joanne.
well, for me there's no problem with this phone really.
it just depends on the need of the user.
if you think what you need is what 5530 has then go for it.
so be sure of what you really want in a phone, 'cos if not then that's the time that we got problem (but take note not with the phone,ok)
this phone is fine, considering it's nokia it doesn't matter anymore where or in which country it's made from. considering symbian os, there are tons of 3rd party applications you can dl and install.
and remember get it from nokia or from a trusted nokia dealer.
I've had this phone for half a year now. At first, i couldn't acces the ovi store, but after that I was able to experience everything this phone had to offer. Games and apps are great, more than i could ever need. I dropped this phone hundreds of times without the case and there was no visible dents on the aluminum or plastic and the touch screen is still very responsive
just tell me whether formatting the memory card from the computer will cause any harm to my phone. I don't mind losing some applications.

AnonD-3956, 08 May 2011Hi all,
i am using my 5530 from 5 months..
initially it was good..
started installing m... moreDear sagarkorde,
im sorry if you experience all this stuff..
but all of these are easy to manage if you just give time to review, i know you can.
first, since you did factory reset this should delete several files from your phone memory (not sure about the memory card) and set it as it was when you first bought it. dont you think this is the reason why some of your applications turns off w/o launching? because some of the files are already deleted.
second, you installed 'more and more' applications, as you described, maybe some of them are set to autostart. from the time that you turn on your phone these apps automatically run as well, running applications in the back ground eats RAM, and running several applications with ram almost sucked up, maybe the phone cant handle it anymore so it just restarts. what you're going to do is exit each application that you are not using, or
install netqin anti vir and mobile guard. use boot acceleration, and disable applications. you may open them later anyway.
third, you know sometimes applications may harm your mobile, we got a lot of 3rd party applications out there, but there are also tons of fake once so we are at risk.. before you dl and install an application best thing that you can do is read the users comments that way you will know if the application is working fine or not.
to answer your question 'shoud i delete everything from phone mem?' the answer is yes!
if you reset your phonemem you should do it to your memory card as well, and my best suggestion is for you to not retain your old files. as this might cause another problem to your phone.
actually, even form your memory card as well..
but if you wanna play with your old applications well just install them by batch, may be do it by three's so you can monitor which application is causing trouble to your beloved 5530. and then dump it.
yes, most of the times signing is required.
just google it, i found way, you will too.
dont say you can never learn the signing thing.
your phone has so many potential, symbian has so many potential dont just stop there buddy.
i can help you do it but but believe me you'd be more than satisfied and proud if you do it by your self, .. give it a try first.. =) goodluck!
i am using my 5530 from 5 months..
initially it was good..
started installing more and more applications.
Now the phone is acting funny.. it is restarting sometime.
I did factory reset and then worked fine for a phone. But still some of the applications
does not run.. once i open an app, it will get closed without launching.
I still don't understnd why my phone memory is only showing as 3 mb free.
How to free the phone memory i dont know.
Should I just delete evrything from phone mem?
One more thing, google maps, nokia maps do not open..
There is no fun using this phone if you cant install most of the applications suggested in
The problem is when installing most of the apps i get certificate error.
Then,I learnt that signing is required.
But I could never learn about the signing process.
It is very tedious and difficult to make it work.
Its been already 5 months.. when will I start enjoying everything I dreamt about symbian
before purchasing this?
Please suggest me anything that works.
Sara, 04 May 2011Hey i m really confused between the 2 mobs "nokia C5-03" and "nokia 5530" ... moreHELOO jee nokia 5530 is best phone i also using it since 1year. i love it and i cannot want to sale this. u must choose it
here's a saying from brother nuwan
(an important guy who helped me make up my mind, and decided to go for 5530, and now i am a so happy owner)
more owners has most number of complaints..
if you hear too much about 5530 that's normal. it is because there are too much owners of it. guys try to explore first, your phone has so many potential, dont just blah blah here, blah blah there then give up. poor you :)..
less user, less complaints.. that's it.
now you know why you hear less about andriod and Ios, because symbian is the most used one..
shawon, 03 May 2011hi,i use 5530...but it's battery is not well.it has no 3G. I'll buy x6 early.i'll go for n8 if i were u:)
Maan, 04 May 2011i have nokia 5530 it is very nice phone...............indeed..
very useful.. with the help of 3rd party applications you can have almost every application that must need...
how old is your 5530?
i have almost 50 applications in my 9mths phone, excluding ones that i've already deleted..
Sara, 04 May 2011Hey i m really confused between the 2 mobs "nokia C5-03" and "nokia 5530" ... morehi Sara,
if you are into music 5530 is for you. camera is fine here (not talking about low light condition ey) but you can check my photos in fb see captured in low light condition albums taken by Francesca (my phone)
performance and quality of this beauty is ok. specially music quality nothing can beat until n8.
but if price doesnt matter to you go for c503, that's more complete. wifi and gps is in your way. more ram. a 3g smart phone and comes with a 5mp camera.
5530 is just a down version of 5800 but, but i went for 5530 after months of review choosing between those two. now i dont have any problems, lag or anything bad to say about it because it's a very good mobile. get it from nokia store alright
if you're gonna ask what would be best go for n8. also my next target.
it's an awesome phone to use.and i think it is one of the most simpliest in it's range.
good looking slim design
good sound quality
camera is ok on outdoor
too much green tint on screen display
poor camera and video indoor
SOFTWARE: is fast and good with no problems, just watch out for faulty 3rd party applications and always install and save all multi media and apps to your memory card, and clear your phone memory!
