So it looks like we are pushing the processor further than how it was actually designed to perform at its peak levels. Probably this may or may not have an impact on the long run. God knows. Well if Nokia has tested it quite enough about the heating and long hours of operation at higher than recommended clocking rates then its fine.
So in that case, 5530 may also have the next step of overclocking later if there are complaints that its slow or to compete with other faster responsive phones.
Just puting down my words/thoughts.
Overclocking is the process of running a computer component at a higher clock rate (more clock cycles per second) than it was designed for or was specified by the manufacturer, usually practiced by enthusiasts seeking an increase in the performance of their computers. Some of them purchase low-end computer components which they then overclock to higher speeds, or overclock high-end components to attain levels of performance beyond the specified values. Others overclock outdated components to keep pace with new system requirements, rather than purchasing new hardware.
@ guys... sorry woke up very late since slept only at 4am. Just now checked all the comments and lot of thought has gone into clockspeed. Well its good to see.
@hanu_blr, @SE fan not now!, @mani, @Anonymous
I saw in many websites that 5800 is overclocked in new firmware. But I m not sure whether it has improved the performance.
@eshaan, can you please give an opinion about the clock speed and performance in 5800.
3 questions are making our head spin: 1) Whether overclocked 5800 has improved performance 2) Whether nokia will introduce Kinetic Scrolling in 5800. 3) When will 5530 be available in India :-(
Rajeev is right, SE K750 gives really nice still photo quality. I found one video on youtube which compares photo quality of 5530 and 5800. I cant open youtube in office here, goto youtube and search "5530 5800 image".
5530 and 5800 have similar photo quality. But SE K750 is better (though less megapixel). But video quality of 5530 and 5800 is better than K750 since K750 has lower video resolution.
confused one!!!, 21 Sep 2009really happy my great indian frnd. On ur opinion which one is better to own... Is there any ... moreu r welcome dude!. Kinetic scrolling is still not present in 5800. I hope nokia introduces it in new firmware. Many (probably millions) of us are waiting for it.

I NEED AN ANSWER
Some honest answers required :D.
1. Does 5800 crashes frequently ?
2. Is there considerable lag in operation ?
hanu_blr, 21 Sep 2009there is something called over clocking, by which u can increase the clock speed. thats what h... moreYes ur right. Actually by increasing the clock speed wat they do is increase the voltage applied on the processor. Now in the computer this is done in the hardware, dont know how they'v done it through the firmware update, but that is not impossible, and its not just a feel good factor :D. Certainly this wud drain the battery to an extent becoz u hav to apply more power on the processor than expected, but u will get better performance frm it.
Mani, 20 Sep 2009@Mangesh, how would the firmware make a difference with the speed of the processor. 5530 has a... morethere is something called over clocking, by which u can increase the clock speed. thats what has been done in fw. the same holds good for intel/amd rt ?. with overclocking, the battery life will come down.

Just think in this way, firmware only for S/W not for H/W (chipset), but the software can decide the clockspeed...
Mangesh S, 20 Sep 2009The new firmware for 5800 runs the processor at same clock speed as 5530.really happy my great indian frnd.
