I expected you are from India - by name. Next about provider. I use BSNL connection. A good phone with an inconsistent provider you would say. I am more or less satisfied. What about you ? Can we make our bond stronger through mail ? Let me know.
@ Dr Adedoyin
Regarding your joystick problem, it can be a hardware problem or os related. If it is hardware related either you have to take it to service centre or just clean as advised by Sanju. If it is software problem then a facory reset may rectify it. Try once if you have not done it till now. I think you know that it won't erase your installed softwares, but you will loose youe settings. Anyway, a backup is a safe option. By the way, I had a SE k700i which had similar problems which was entirely due to software.
@ Dr Adedoyin -
no adedoyin i didnt still face any problems with my 5700 the joystick is working fine the keypad is really good and nothings loosed or damaged (im using the black color 5700 with white) ... maybe its the dust which had gotten inside ur phone malfunctioning ur joystick or another part of the circuit ... this cant be happend by the bh 300 ... but maybe theres a 5 % chance of a headphone damaging ur phone becuz of its own malfunctioning problems ... but since u have used a bluetooth headset its not connected to ur phone with a wire therefore that cant be the reason ... still i cant figure out what went wrong with ur 5700 ... aren't u planning to take it to the dealer for service ... ☺ ♫♪♫♪
To Dr Adedoyin-- Well , regarding ur joystick problem , one thing is sure. Its got nothing to do with the headset that u connected. In any ways , the joystick cannot be damaged. And regarding ur problem , make sure there is no dust on the sides of the joystick , coz that might create problems sometimes. Apart from that , i cant find any reason for the malfunctioning of ur joystick. Try to clean the sides of ur joystick , and more importantly , kindly use the joystick softly. Because , while playing games , we tend to use the joystick as we want. So ,that might give u problems. So , its always better if the handset has a D pad instead of a joystick. Anyways , so just try keep ur joystick dust free and handle it slowly. And , lets hope ur problem does not persists anymore.
I suggest you use NetQin antivirus. I've been using it for months and its very dependable. It also updates periodically via gprs to bring it up to date. you get it free from series60v3.com
Document viewers works well with this phone. You can use Quickoffice and adobe pdf reader.
Sound quality of 5700 is definitely better than 3250 when you use the headphone. I have used the two phones so i know.
@gka3000, Sanju, Partha,
Has any of you got this kind of problem with your 5700? The joystick suddenly became very sensitive with the lightest touch. It selects anytime my finger just lightly brush over it. This problem developed about one week ago when i connected the phone to a nokia BH-300 bluetooth headset. Since then it has been occuring on and off even in middle of an applications accidentally selecting wrong things. I usually switch off the phone, play on the joystick couple of times, then switch on again for the problem to clear but it re occurs again intermmitently. Has any one encountered this situation and what do any of you think might be the cause. Any suggestion as to what to do to clear this problem?

no the twisting base is rock solid im using it for 3 - 4 months i think , nothing wrong with it or the keypad both works fine ...

To N.M.H-- When u connect ur handset to p.c via data cable , the only thing that u can access is ur micro sd memory card. What else can u access ? Nothing xcept ur memory card.
To N.M.H-- And regarding the micro sd card compatibility , 5700 can handle upto 4gb( as per the specifications in the nokia website ). But , in reality , it can handle upto 8gb , without any problems.
To N.M.H-- If u ask others as to which handset to buy , its very difficult to say , because it all depends on ur choice. U must be knowing what features u want in the handset that u use . So , just know what u want , and go and buy the handset according to ur needs. And regarding n91 and rokr e6 , they both are completely different in terms of features and functionality. If u want a touch screen handset , then go for e6 , coz its the best mobile by motorola. The features are xcellent. And , if u want a music oriented handset ,then go n91. So , it all depends on u again. But , i feel nokia 5700 is really worth buying.
yup! 1 thing more! when we connect it to a PC via USB, canwe access the microSD card as well? and does it charge off USB?
What a cool phone! it's a pity theirs nothin new in the music player as the review states but who cares! i'll cope with it given its cool twisting design! btw, guys plz, i jus' wanna know MicroSD cards upto what capacity are compatible with this thing? plz answer ASAP! also, i'm confused between buyin' Nokia 5700, Nokia N91, and Motorola Rokr E6! plz advise me as to which one shall i buy!
