well im not using a 4gb or 8gb memory for my 5700 xm at the moment but i think someone using 4gb memory replied to this site before he said that his phone ain't giving any kind of trouble with that amount of memory ... but sometimes some applications ur installing may slow down ur phone so it is always good to keep the amount of installed applications to a certain level ... but as i know filling up mp3s and videos wont be much trouble ...
Try using Acala 3gp converter to convert your avi and mpeg video to 3gp then transfer to your phone. Video cd could be converted to mpeg first by Tsunami Mpeg encoder. This is what i do when converting large video files.
wanted to ask another question if you use the 4GB or 8GB(coz i just heard that it can also hold that much memory)doesnt the phone slow down or hang when being used coz of the many things in the phone..
coz i have noted with my phone,it slows down when more things are saved so i can only imagine after tha 1500 or so songs wunt i have a hard time using my phone

this cellphone is not friendly,i'm just wondering why..but i think because it always hangs..because i always accidentaly fell it down..where will i let it be repair?
the answer -
probably it gives trouble becuz ur dropping it always ... so u can take it to the dealer u brought it from and repair it ...
todays phones contain very sensitive stuff inside em ... for example this phone even got a processor and a 16 m color display and a twisting base ... so u should use it with care u cant always drop it like an old nokia 1110 ...

ok dont worry theres nothing wrong with the phone except u need to assign the album art to the mp3 in the correct way ... play the mp3 u want in the windows media player ... (i use version 11) go to the library ... select the song in the now playing section and right click on it and select advance tag editor ... a tag editor will be displayed ... fill in track info and and artist info and everything u need and to add the album art click on the pictures tab ... click add and select the album cover u want to see ... after it is added select picture type as " cover (front) " then click apply and ok ... transfer it to ur phone using data cable or bluetooth dongle ... and after u receive it save it on the phone and in the phone go to music player then select options select refresh music library ... now the song is in ur phone play it u will see the album art loaded after few second after u start playing the song ... i hope this helps ... good luck
can install sisx file on the nokia 5700 phone?
i know that it can install sis file, so how about sisx file?
To all, this is my post about micro sd/hc in the 5700.
[quote]I have nokia 5700, and I have to say that the 4gb sandisk micro sdhc works with it so get it...
As a matter of fact it works at every fp1 cos they support Fat32.
It also works with all s60 3rd phones, cos You can format the memory card for Fat16, which means you can use it at the phone not at the computer and it can not be used as mass storage....
@leigh23 & wambui
oh yeah,additional to gka,
5- this fon has - 35 MB of user memory
- 64 MB SDRAM, 128 MB ROM
- ARM 11, 369 MHz CPU.
as you know, those is are the really important part,as a brain, like pc,everyone need pc that faster to do the job, like human also, thinking and memorize the information and task.
opps,sorry,my mistake..yes,this fone has 3.5mm jack.
hmmm,as i experienced,5700 louspeaker is not loud like n73me on those vol...and to makes it sound loud, you must set the vol to 8-10(maximum).this fone sounds great when in higher vol..I always use earphone, because the sound will be more great than the loudspeaker.but, remember, altought maximum vol and not as loud as N73me,the sound is more clear to audioable than N73me,that will has more noises..and like you said, this also depend on mp3 files you have.
maximum messages that can be stored in this fone is depends on its internal memory(about 38mb).but,you can also store massages on your microSd,but i don't know, how many messages that can be stored on microSD because the higher massage i stored is 800 messages, but i think it is unlimited depends how many MB it has.
About the radio,i rarely used it because i only listening to mp3,because not all my favourite songs is played in the time..but,i think it can save up to 20 stations.
The signal receptions is good, and the battery life is also depends on how you used it all the day.i charged my fone everynight before i sleep.
the PROS about this fone i found is:
*when mark several images or videos in gallery to a folder created(like album in gallery),only 1 of the marked item is moving to the folder.
*loudness in audio setting is not functioning and does't has it effect to louder the sounds.
*This fone needs updated firmware from nokia a.s.a.p.maybe because this probs, this price is cheap.I also wondering why its price is drop so much.but i think this is because some minor fault, not serious ok,in this firmware.
No, there is no newer software version than 3.27.
Now will someone tell me how I can encode videos that are longer than 36 mins without them freezing?
Or how I can conserve album art of my MP3s?
Is there software update available? Mine is v3.27. Is there newer one available?
this cellphone is not friendly,i'm just wondering why..
but i think because it always hangs..
because i always accidentaly fell it down..
where will i let it be repair?

@ David Vargas -
and 5700 is far more better than 3250 (but still 3250 is a good phone in the market) but since ur buying a newer one u should go for a 5700 ... by the way i replyed last time i forgot to put my name on it ... lol
@ David Vargas -
if ur doing that much of sms per day im really sure that u should go for a 5700 and if ur doing 2 - 3 hours per day on music then still u should go for the 5700 ... so in every way u should go for a 5700 buddy ... ;-)
im not sure about the 8gb memory but it supports upto 4gb thats for sure maybe it does support 8 gb too but i cant say for sure cuz i havent met anyone whose using 8gb still ... we will see ...
Hello. I just wanted everyones opinion on this.
I have used a nokia 3250 for over a year, and i loved it to bits. i recently broke it and am thinking about buying another 3250 to replace it.
I am also thinking about a nokia 5700 but around here where I live in the states, a nokia 3250 costs $200 USD and the 5700 costs $400 USD.
which should I buy? I use it primarily for text messaging, over 200 per day and I also use it for an mp3 player and listen to it for about 2 or 3 hours out of my day.
Which should i choose?

u cant send installed applications in ur phone to other phones ... after an application is installed in the phone its like a software which is installed in a pc ... but u can send the setup (ex- sis) files which u took to the phone to other phones and install those in em ...
