DRAGOS, 29 Oct 2008v 5.11 is an official release from Nokia?
becouse i ve searched through Nokia Oficial Websi... moreI've had my 5700's firmware updated to v.5.11 the past four months now. So far, performance stays cool. Loudspeakers sounded the same - still great.
Faster file search even I'm using a 8Gb microSDHC card.
No more lags as compared to my previous version of v.3.27.2
v 5.11 is an official release from Nokia?
becouse i ve searched through Nokia Oficial Website and it s says:
Latest available software for Nokia 5700, product code 0544843
If this version is greater than your current software version, update now to get the latest features, applications and improvements. Go to Nokia Software Updater download
No, there are no problems with the display after upgrading to v5.11. Color, contrast, brightness are all fine. No dead pixels. No incompatibility issue with any J2ME or Symbian software.
Yes, you will be able to use the phone in normal networks in the US if you've got roaming. However, you wont get 3G services because the US implements a different frequency.
i am going to usa on 15th november will this phone work in us if i have roaming facility
My OS is v4.21 and i want to upgrade to v5.11 but i want to know if i wont have any display problems after?
I just can't find a music phone as good as nokia 5700!! This phone rox!!
For all of you who want to upgrade to v5.11:
I just updated from v3.27 directly to v5.11 with Phoenix Suite. In comparison to any other FW version, v5.11 is the best.
1) Its extremely stable. I have had no unwanted restarts since I upgraded (which is about 4 days ago). Thats a big step ahead from v3.27 where the phone would just restart in the middle of anything unexpectedly. On restart, if you call anyone or anyone calls you, the phone mic didnt work. I mean that even if you were screaming on top of your voice, the other person couldnt hear a thing. The only solution to this was to restart the phone manually. But this annoying problem has been fixed in v5.11.
2) In v3.27, the "Last Call Duration" in "Log" would always show 00:00 or 00:01 even if you're last call was like 2 hours long. v5.11 now gives the correct information.
3) When talking on the phone for long periods of time, say more than 10min, the phone would get unbelievably hot. This also happened when the phone was used as a modem to your PC. in v5.11 the phone doesnt do this and it just gets warm enough how it should.
4) in 5.11, sound quality has improved a bit through loudspeakers and earphones. Sound distortion has definitely decreased, and its more comfortable to listen to music for longer periods.
Its definitely worth upgrading to v5.11 without any doubt. If you havent done so already, DO IT NOW! Its easy. Do it with Phoenix. DOTSIS LINK:
N5700xm, 27 Oct 2008Yup bro its ok,pakitanong po if how much pa.thanks.5700 is really g0od.lolBro i just tried but no reply. I will inf0rm you f they give me feedback.
hey,am winnie.i want to get this phone next week but i want to know how good it is from the users.and just how weighty is it?don't like my phones too weighty.thanks
something I noticed about 5700 and n81
5700 has alot better camera than the green tinted, noise polluted, pictures that the n81 does
even with flash everything is green...seems like the default camera of n81 is actually an application to turn smiling people in the pictures, into incredible hulks
I mean wadapak, even on good daylight, there are always shades of green(noise)
on poor lighting, the camera is greener than ever, use the led flash and it turns the subjects in the image white-green
white on the inside, green on the outside
in terms of camera

I bought my Nokia 5700 November last year (2007). I can be slightly slow if you have a lot of files (music, pictures, videos, etc), but not too slow, just a bit.
I wanted a phone with quadband (850/900/1800/1900), 2MP camera, 2.2 screen, MP3 player, video and camera recoreder and 3G. The only thing it lacks is Wi-Fi and touch-screen. But for its price range, it's no surprise that it doesn't have it.
Bottom line, I think it's a really good phone for its price range and is almost at par with the N series. I plan to keep this phone for about 3-4 more years. :)
