Cactus, 30 Aug 2008Well, I'm sorry to inform you that the guys over at Mobile Review have already reviewed the N8... moreWoah tol thats a lot of f0ne,can i buy ur n80?lol,(you can ign0re or entertain this)lol.
Well me im just a poor boy,im only keeping 2 fones,my 5700 and my 3210 whch the battery already die 2m0nths past.lol.
Cactus, 30 Aug 2008Well, I'm sorry to inform you that the guys over at Mobile Review have already reviewed the N8... morewow thats alot of phone...
i also have an old 6600 for 4yrs, i already given it to my brother...nwei,
when i say that people nowadays will not keep a phone for 2 yrs, i speak of average people(here in the Philippines). for us pilipinos keeping several phones is very impractical. some keep at most 3 phone and that is because here we only have 3 phone network company.. also regarding the 5yrs life time, that is actually the lit time. means when you are not using your phone the screen will fade to black and will not consume its life...
Well, I'm sorry to inform you that the guys over at Mobile Review have already reviewed the N85 prototype, which is indicative to the final version, and the N85's technical specifications include a STMicroelectronics Nomadik ARM 9 264MHz dual CPU, with a 24-bit DSP chip for sound making it in line with the N96. Over at Smape.com, the guys mentioned that this DSP chip gives good sound quality but is inferior to N81 which uses a different audio chip - Toshiba DAC33. N85 is identical to N96, hardware-wise.
As for what you have said that no one keeps a phone for more than two years - well, I have a N80 which is already 2 years old; N70, 2.5 years old; 6630, 3.5 years old; 6600, 4 years old, and I still have them all up to now. I'm using my N95 8GB as my main phone and 5700 as my backup phone. I also have a N81 8GB but I'm not using it often. So, 5 years lifetime is so short for an AMOLED display. These phones can last for more than 5 years when properly used and given good conditioning but imagine if the display will eventually worn out in a definite period of time. So I'm going to pass on N85. TFT LCD is still better. My next phone will be N96. I hope I can get that early next year.
Cactus, 30 Aug 2008N78 maybe an all-in-one device but its performance is only average and it does not specialize ... moreas for as the cons of n85 that you mentioned,
IMO no one today will own a phone for more than two years(or even one year) so the life time of the screen is not really a con to bother anyone. as for the sounds, AFAIK we cannot really compare it for now since its not yet been released and also remember this line as i always see this on nokia's site..
"specs may be subjected to changes without prior notice", hehehe!! something like that. i hope i got that correct...
remember, its just my opinion..
koko, 30 Aug 2008dudes which is better 5700 or the 5320?Specwise,5320 is g0od.
N78 maybe an all-in-one device but its performance is only average and it does not specialize on something. The camera is 3.2MP Carl Zeiss optics but its lens is smaller than that of N73's camera lens. It has dual speakers but the sound is so soft and somewhat "MONO". FM transmitter is a good thing but it's signal is very weak. You have to be 2 meters near the receiver. The keypad takes some time getting used to but the soft keys, call/end keys, menu/cancel keys have a mind of their own. Sometimes they act like touch sensitive, sometimes they are not responsive.
N81 8GB is currently Nokia's best music phone. It comes with dedicated music keys. The sound quality is top notch, only N91 beats it in sound quality. It's also better in gaming because of landscape mode and gaming buttons. The disadvantages are its lack of HSDPA, GPS, and good camera.
N82 is good in almost everything. But it depends on how it will suit your needs. It's mainly a camera phone so don't expect too much in music terms.
N85 is the ultimate phone but it also has its cons. The lifetime of the AMOLED display is around 5 years only. It has a good sound quality but still it's below par with N81 8GB. N85 doesn't have the audio chip of N81. It's a different audio chip used in N85. So, N81 8GB is still better in sound quality than N85. But you can forget about it knowing that N85 has everything you'll ever want in a phone.
N79 is mainly an upgraded version of N78. The camera and RAM are upgraded but the CPU is still the same single chip Freescale ARM11 369MHz processor same as 5700, N81 8GB, N78.
koko, 30 Aug 2008dudes which is better 5700 or the 5320?For me its 5700, although 5320 is running in FP2 i really don't like a small screen in a phone.
Turin0, 30 Aug 2008Helo. Im a 5700 user. I want to buy a new phone. Im choosing am0ng N81 8GB, N78 at N82. Here i... moreIf you can't wait n85 or n79 then N82 is better if only average music is fine with you. For me having TV out of n82 is a plus thats why i don't look forward to either n81 or n78.
Turin0, 30 Aug 2008Helo. Im a 5700 user. I want to buy a new phone. Im choosing am0ng N81 8GB, N78 at N82. Here i... moreN81 8GB - if you want a great music phone with excellent sound quality and good gaming functions but don't care about the camera and GPS. The 8GB built-in memory is a big plus.
N78 - if you want an all-in-one device but the performance is just average, like its music player, sound quality and speakers are below par with N81. Also you have to buy an additional memory card if you want to fill it up with a lot of music.
N78 may seem better in form factor but yes, it does creak indeed - the back cover, the sides, the buttons (alphanumeric and soft keys) are hard to press. N81 8GB is a slider but slide mechanism is smooth. So if you don't care about the camera, gps, hsdpa - go for N81 8GB.
Otherwise, choose N78 if you want everything in a phone but sound quality through the headset and speakers is a worse.
akhoo10, 30 Aug 2008if i were you, i'll save up more money and wait for the release of the n85...they say its feb ... more0o nga e,but me,i like the n79,because it is candybar, lol, but my target is n82,maybe 2yrs fr0m n0w,ill have my n82.lol,student pa lang ako eh.

Turin0, 30 Aug 2008Helo. Im a 5700 user. I want to buy a new phone. Im choosing am0ng N81 8GB, N78 at N82. Here i... moreIf i were u,as u said,ur a music addict,ill ch0ose n81.but if i were u,ill ch0ose n82,its f0rm is m0re stable than a slide up.but if i will ch0ose between n78 and n81,ill ch0ose n78.
Helo. Im a 5700 user. I want to buy a new phone. Im choosing am0ng N81 8GB, N78 at N82. Here in SM Northedsa, N78 is only 16k, N82 is 19k, and N81 8GB is 15k. I want N81 8GB becos Im a music adDict and it has a large memory already, no need to buy an extra mem0ry card. It already has 3g, wifi, 2.4" screEn, naviwheel, stereo speakers, 3.5mm jack, ngage and becos it's nseries, the galLery is a r0tating 3D gallery unlike 5700 w/c is only plain gallery. I think N81 8Gb is the best buy 4 me. But I saw N78 and it's only 16k now, only 1k is the difference between N81 8Gb & N78. And N78 has a lot m0re fEatUres becos it has 3.2mp camera w/ Carl Zeiss optics & autofocus, VGA video, wifi , HSDPA, GPS, FM transmitTer, naviwheel, FP2. So Im realLy c0nfused. I cant dEcidE if i will go f0r N81 8Gb or N78. My c0ncern is h0w g0od is N78 as a music player, the s0und of speaker, w/c has better s0und in headset & speaker? I lyk the dEsiGn of N78 but they say that it's build is creaky and it's pr0ne to scratches. Im realLy c0nfusEd.
