stonecold, 22 Apr 2009u r rich man so u can use both the phone...but all other not lyk so tell exactly which is good... moreboth are good.
it is a matter of a preference. the touch or the d-pad.
the n95 still packs a punch for being a two year old smartphone.
the 5800 touchscreen is great...a frendly user. most touchscreen phones aren't.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970oh one last thing. i think both are user friendly. most touchscreens are not user frendly, but the 5800 is.
therock, 22 Apr 2009the n85 is somewhat similar to the n95. i like my n95 because it is an all around device and ... moreu r rich man so u can use both the phone...but all other not lyk so tell exactly which is good one...
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970the n85 is somewhat similar to the n95. i like my n95 because it is an all around device and a friendly user. i dont get bored using it. i dont mind the d-pad. camera quality is good with a powerful flash. it is more of a camera phone.
i also like my 5800 touchscreen. it is also an all around device. camera is decent and not as good as the n-series. it is more of a music phone.
it is up to you to decide! i would say buy them both and alternate on using them.
sean, 22 Apr 2009just want to get some advices from the users of this phone. How is the camera of the phone? i ... morethis is designed as a MUSIC PHONE, not a camera phone (like the n95, n96, n97). the camera is decent with powerful dual led flashes. People that are saying the camera is lousy are dumb. again, it is a MUSIC PHONE. i think it gives an overall performance. plus, the bundle is great...one of the things included is a free 8 gb memory card.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970At least i have both these fones to tell you..
The n85 has potent screen colours that to me look odd and not natural, its like youve turnes colour up full on your tele..Pressing down on d-pad is stiff but its something to do with gaming..CAMERA is not as good n82its just typical n-series and you will be bored of it quick.
5800 is very nippy once you are used to it and got it set up..to me it was very, very different and odd at first but as you get used to it its good and many times better than xperia bar any operating system..
If you want normal nokia again go for n85 but if you want something different with excellent video,,music,,big screen its 5800 but dont expect much from camera at moment..
Abed, 22 Apr 2009Hey people. I might buy this phone this weekend. I have the Nokia E61i now. I'm not sure how g... moreno software problem on mine. touchscreen is responsive enough. my 5800 is the us version. the latest models were launched in the us with the latest firmware already included. scratches? simply put an anti-scratch screen protector on the screen to eliminate scratches.

Nokia is making a new one similar to ... morethe 5800 models that were launched in the US have responsive touchscreens. those are the new screens that you are talking about. also the latest firmware is included. that's what i have on my 5800.

Venkatesh, 22 Apr 2009Brynn,
Thanks a lot for the info. It seems the Quick Office and PDF installation files were... moreI went to mini opera on 5800 itself and that decides for you the best version..I put mini opera into google on the 5800 itself and it give me version 4.2 not 4.1 i have on n85..
MPEG4 is apparently NOT a video format but an umbrella term for MP4,,mp4,,.3gp,,.3gpp formats...IT took me years to learn video formats cause an mp4 video worked on my moto a835 but when i bought a nokia 7610 it stuttered to a halt?? Then i found its all to do with bit-rate ,,resolution,,fps it was a huge 3 year journey..
MPEG stands for "moving pictures expert group" ..
Now i have a video off my o2 x3 which was my first 262k colour screen fone and that will play on samsung fones and s/e fone but will noy play on nokia series60 fones??? You know what the answer is and thats a standard format is needed,,apparently this was discuused wen 3g fones come along and .3gpp was said but never took off>>.3gpp stands for "third generation partnerships protocol"...
Then theirs the samsung i8510 which i sold due to lip sync issues which is another annoying factor in video conversion apps..
I use the sandisk v-mate video recorder,,plug it into your tele and record tele or video or dvd etc and its got plenty off settings but top setting 640x480 30fps in best quality can use 22MB a second and has a massive bitrate..

Hmm if i go fo... moreI often use my n6630 for going out on town with, its was/is still a briiliant easy to use smartfone and worth £15 ,,does not make it a bad fone cause its not worth much money ...
Getting this phone is not ideally worth it since its price is dropping already. Hmm if i go for touch screen, then maybe I will just wait for a multi-touch screen phones. Touch screen is just touching it unlike multi-touch you can play with it with your fingers (like Iphone)
It would be better if you wait for the new 5800 screens. Nokia is making a new one similar to the Iphone screen, so they will be improving the touch features on the new 5800 screens. Just wait, and your patience will be rewarded.
Hey people. I might buy this phone this weekend. I have the Nokia E61i now. I'm not sure how good this phone is. I've heared from my friends that it has software problems. Is this true? I have a little problem with screens in my mobiles. Is the screen SCRATCHABLE? IS IT BRAKEBALE? please answer as soon as possible.
