Please trust me don`t buy this phone..I suggests you to buy E71...I like 5800 phone when i buy it but now after 4 months i truly madly deeply hate this sucks phone.
KoyKim, 20 Apr 2009Hi everyone, I just got this 5800XM yesterday! The phone work perfectly so far!! But not until... moremy problem is same with you..when i use this phone to browsing or chat this phone turn off by it shelves (3 of my friends using this phone and they got same problem)..when i want to turn on again..i must take off my battery 1st. this is very sucks for me..I bought this 5800 on January, and today I sell my 5800..I hate this phone..i think this phone is not perfect, even 5800 has good touchscreen (very sensitive). SonyEricsson type W much much better than 5800 sound..
The Worst set ever seen and used.
better is the n73.
this is too costly(19000) while 5610 cost only 11000
danny, 19 Apr 2009can i know what is capacative screen ?A capacitive touchscreen panel is coated with a material, typically indium tin oxide, that conducts a continuous electrical current across the sensor. The sensor therefore exhibits a precisely controlled field of stored electrons in both the horizontal and vertical axes - it achieves capacitance. The human body is also an electrical device which has stored electrons and therefore also exhibits capacitance. Capacitive sensors work based on proximity, and do not have to be directly touched to be triggered. It is a durable technology that is used in a wide range of applications including point-of-sale systems, industrial controls, and public information kiosks. It has a higher clarity than Resistive technology, but it only responds to finger contact and will not work with a gloved hand or pen stylus unless the stylus is conductive and transmits the user's capacitance. Capacitive touch screens can also support Multitouch. Examples include Apple Inc.'s iPhone and iPod touch, and HTC's T-Mobile G1.
hi everyone. Nokia 5800 is best phone ever. I used iphone for 8 months and that was the best i ever had until i got 5800. i just cant believe this review about screen of 5800. It works same as iphones, very responsive even though resistive. Believe me u will love it. There no words for sound quality and camera.
boseindia, 18 Apr 2009to some one Go to Menu-Settings-Personal-Home screen-Short cuts-Select Calender-OKthanks
I've also owned this mobile & think its not fast enough, i might consider the LG arena as it sounds Promising.
brynn, 20 Apr 2009Why not use the comparison site on gsmarena itself for starters,,then think are you a buisness... moreHi,
Hiding calendar entries from display at home screen is very simple!
Go to settings-personal-home screen-home screen (again)-uncheck the calendar box and click ok.
you may need to restart your phone so that your existing display gets changed.
I am considering buying either a Nokia Xpress 5800, E71 , E66, or Sony Eric W705!! And open to other suggestions... (I've returned the Iphone 'toy'!!).
I use it mostly as a phone in the car! (therefore prefer phone keypad, not Qwerty - try multi tasking w/ a Qwerty keypad!!), then texting followed by email.
I'm not a techno head, and have been happy w/ my previous 3 Nokia, and admittedly favour staying w/ a familar style mobile.
I have to make a decision asap re. contract issues...All opinions appreciated,
Hi everyone, I just got this 5800XM yesterday! The phone work perfectly so far!! But not until I open the MAP and the phone is suddenly turn-off by itself! Does anyone out there have this similar problems?

E71 or 5800 XM?Why not use the comparison site on gsmarena itself for starters,,then think are you a buisness type fone user cause e71 will suite you more but you will loose the big touchscreen,,30fps vga video record of 5800 which i use..
I have a question,,i like having the 4 apps on homescreen but all my callender entrys show up for all to see.I know this has been a tradtion since symbian began but how do you hide the entrys to make them not visible on home screen..I cant figure it out or even ifs its possible can any one advise or point me in the right direction,,thanx..
I have been messing about with the fone since 7am this morning with 10 mins of calls 5texts/recieved and 10 mms sent/recieved 2hrs music, on internet and its on 2 bars now at 11pm..So using this a bit more heavily the battery is good for the day..Its amazing with a visit to zedge and gradually getting some of my fave apps how the 5800 is getting even better every day..I want to get the foto browser thats shown here on gsm arena onto 5800,,have you seen the magnifying glass app its brilliant..I had given up on touchscreen but the 5800 has restored faith just dont expect too much from cam at moment ti;ll an upgrade sharpens its clarity up a bit..
