lk, 17 Feb 2009Should i get the 5800 or the N95 8GB?? which one is better? thank you if you answer!!! i re... moreboth are great all around smartphones. n95 is more for photos and the 5800 touchscreen is more for music. both can do music and photos. to me both are awesome phones. the differences are the features, the cam mp, the screen resolution...5800 touchscreen has a higher resolution( one is touch and the other is a d-pad, more importantly the price tag. up to if you want a touchscreen or not.

5800XM is a good phone but not a Business Phone. I have a E90 and got this one as it has a small form factor and touch screen to aid easy web browsing. But later I realised that this is not an ideal business phone. Reasons :
1 - No office suite (3rd Party is possible)
2 - No E-Mail display in Active Standby (I miss that like anything)
3 - Not VERY EASY input methods when you have to type long text. In general, business docs have a combination of Alphanumerics and Special chars.. this phone needs a lot of extra key presses for simple tasks. Typing S60V5 needs S+Num+6+0+Alpha+Shift+V+Num+5 = 9 Keys. I need 5 Keys in E90.
4 - Misses a lot of common characters like Square Brackets in qwerty keyboards and you have to change to handwriting or Multitap for them. This is very frustating when you wish to give the perfect touch to your doc.
However, 5800XM is an excellent phone and I LOVE IT. Not being a business phone does not take away the points anyway from the general perspective.

i really need to know cuz im gnna get a new phone i currently have the sony ericsson W580i which is okay..// but you have to be so FRAGILE nd careful with it its annoying..nd it is good for storing music but you need the memory stick for that like if you want alot of music. but w.e. its annoying..
i have had problems with the ear piece volume fading and returning.returning the phone, unable to use although i am impressed with the phone. this is a common fault on these phones
I have bought new 5800.Its great set.
well inspite of faulty earlier sets, new released sets are much more better.so go for it if u r movie lover.great DVD screen with full size video.i really love to watch video songs with good speakers.N95 is not good choice in case of video.
@l3xK33, 17 Feb 2009Hi guy, i need assist. did anyone know how to find the mac address of this phone? thanks. The Mac address should be on the sticker with all the bar codes on the box, near the IMEI.
My Nokia 5800 has this LCD problem, when I lock the phone, I have to try 2-10 times to unlock it correctly.
When I lock , the lcd turns off , the problem is when LCD wants to turns on , it doesnt turn on correctly , it shows vertical lines and can't see anything. I have to try unlocking several times before the LCD displays correctly again. There are times when an incoming call comes in, the LCD also displays the vertical lines. Have been reading the nokia forums and seems like quite a number of people are having the same issue with their 5800 LCD's as well.
Anyone here face this issue and how did you fix the fault?. I've already send my unit to Nokia Care center and its been sitting there for more than a week now with no news as to when it will be fixed or what the problem is.
for all the nokia users that are complaining about the bugs of the 5800 touchscreen, i think the first models have them. I am sure nokia is aware of those bugs. I am planning to buy one when the 5800 touchscreen hits the US market. I hope that the smartphone models that are coming to the US are bug-free.
I have the n95. Will it be a big time downgrade if i buy the 5800 touchscreen?

I need help from 5800 users. I'll use the phone (besides conversations and sms) for notes, meetings, reminders, e-mails (bussines). I know that E71 is better for bussines but I'm not heavy user and I like 5800 design. Is this phone for me and what's your expirince with battery life. I need your help, can't decide!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tried the calendar function on a handset in Carphone Warehouse yesterday.
Pros - Good solid usable, feature packed.
Inputting text using the finger was quite difficult and challenging as the selectable days of the month are very small and this is bad for me.
Stylus is an embarrassment (flexible 15 pence piece of plastic) and located on the right side at the base of the phone (I'm left handed and so are 1 in 10 of us!)
