Asim, 17 Feb 2009Hi,(URGENT!)
I have a query .. Can I watch normal mpeg & WMV (computer) videos on this phon... moreI have got this phone and it is excellent, u can play mp4 video and connect it upto an LCD TV, works good, however you cannot play any other format films,
Dont worry you can always convert other types to mp4 and play it on this phone.
Also coz it has WI-FI you can log onto www and download mps songs etc.
Hope this helps
Anonymous, 17 Feb 2009Can you tell what is the next move by apple? From 2mp to 8mp/12mp? Now come with mms and cut... moreHmm, next iPhone will have XRay camera, so that after getting beaten up I can check whether I have broke my bones are not. It will have a radar to detect incomming missiles, will have a laser torch to cut breads, it will have a sniper rifel barrel below the camera lens, you can zoom in and out by touching the screen before shooting. It will have a self destruct mode so that it can blow up the thief in case it gets stolen. :D
Hi guy, i need assist. did anyone know how to find the mac address of this phone? thanks.
Broax, 17 Feb 2009Well... I've had this phone for about 3 weeks and I gotta say... Feature-wise I really love it... moreBroax can you give me a comment about organizer in 5800 and your general opinion about the phone. I know that E71 is very good business phone but I would like more to buy 5800 because I'm use to touch screen and I like it's specs. What is your verdict on 5800???
Please help, I'm confused. (Sorry for my bad english)
Can you tell what is the next move by apple? From 2mp to 8mp/12mp?
Now come with mms and cut and paste?
Now with video calling?
And what is the next design? Similar to currebt one?
Is anybody else experiencing same issue as Julia? Touch sensitivity going down after a couple of months?
Resistive touchscreens might not be as sensitive as capacitive ones, but they are very durable, this should not be happening :(
Anyway, I have seen this problem in few older HTC touch phones, screen sensitivity goes a little bit down after 6-7 months, but still they are very usable.
Julia, may I ask how bad is the touch sensitivity now?
Cons and goods:
+ Touch...means fast chatting and SMSing
+ High resolution 640x360
+ Loud speakers
+ Some apps you will never find in A200 or S40
- Can't use under sunlight
- Horrible camera(even for the ones who never buy a phone for its camera)
- Touch is too hard, you will have to use fingernails or stylus
- Games are ''oldschool'' mobile, nothing to compare with iphone
- Video recording is awfull in all situation unless in a bright sunny day
- Lot of bugs (got one in the pics browser yesterday)
- Very slow in zooming or sliding pics
- No emoticons for sms
- Ugly plastic playshool look

Dark Energy, 17 Feb 2009I'll go for this phone even if the camera is not so fantastic or even if the touch is no so co... moreYou have said what i want to say! Yes this phone worths the money we pay for, we do not feel rip off
I'll go for this phone even if the camera is not so fantastic or even if the touch is no so cool as iPhone, I like it's massive hi resolution screen and outstanding audio quality. Watching videos/Pics in this phone must be a real enjoyment.
At this point, there is no competitor for this phone in market, iPhone does not have these many functionalities, XPERIA/Touch HD/Pixon is costly. And since last 7 years I have used 6 Nokias and they never let me down.
I purchased nokia 5800 express music and I tried to update my mobile firmware update from V11.0.008 to v126.96.36.199 by my mobile but every time message coming "server not responding". I connect through PC via USB but even though by Nokia Download. This program also not accepting message comes “The security certification has expired or is not yet valid. proceed? A problem occurred with internet connection. Please try refreshing content.” I refresh content but it persisting same.
One more problem with my accelerometer it is not working properly when I hold my phone vertically icon shows horizontally and when I hold horizontally then icon shows vertical so this reason I put it off mode.
So please if you know the solution let me know so that I can update my phone.
Thanks for your advice.

Broax, 17 Feb 2009Well... I've had this phone for about 3 weeks and I gotta say... Feature-wise I really love it... moreI have played with a 5800 and own an E71. The difference in usability is massive. While the 5800 is versatile, it is very clearly an 'experiment' by Nokia, and has not been thought through properly. The interface is not consistent. On the other hand, the E71 was designed by two industrial designers who thought about everything. The phone is a) Very fast to use b) Intuitive (even if the GUI is not as sexy as the 5800), c) The camera is not that good, but video is ok. d) The MP3 player is in my opinion (wait for it) faster and easier to use than my otherwise lovely iPod Touch V2. You can quickly zip around your music tracks way faster than on an iPod or 5800. Only downside is the lack of a 3.5mm jack, but it does have a 2.5mm jack and you can get an adapter from your Vodafone store - where I got my E71. Sound quality if you use posh headphones or as I do, Sony Stereo Bluetooth headset, is good enough. Other benefits of the E71 are fantastic messaging (texting and emailing is what this phone was made for - the keyboard is great). The build quality and thiness are also unique and it's a sure head turner - makes Blackberry Bold look really fat! Oh, and the 1500MH battery just keeps on going. If the E71 had a slightly higher res screen, a 3.5mm audio jack, a better still camera (it's terrible in low light) and VGA video recording (like the N95), it would really be the ultimate phone. Go for it, you'll never go back!
Lol, 17 Feb 2009I like this phone touch screen; but I don't like the cam 3 mega pexl. Why dnt u make 5 megapxl cam?Hello Lol,
If you like higher Megapixel phone, and if you are a fan of Nokia, then please wait for the N86. It will be launched in June and will have a 8 megapixel Carl Zeiss Autofocus camera. It will be nothing but a improved N85, with an 8 megapixel camera.
Well... I've had this phone for about 3 weeks and I gotta say... Feature-wise I really love it. Good software, nice touch-screen, etc. The only real downside is the software availability (next to none) and the somewhat disapointing camera quality... =/
But I don't know if it's just me but I'm going for the 3rd replacement phone! O.o The first one had a bad speaker and this second one turns off by itself! Does anyone have simillar problems or is it just bad luck of mine?
Anyway, since I still have my 15 days store refund, I'm now wondering if I should get a new 5800 (again... -_-) or if I should try the e66 or e71... I don't care much about the camera... I do need a good organizer, nice texting, and good sound quality as the phone is my official mp3 player. I also need GPS for my life's worth! =x
Anonymous, 16 Feb 2009Is Nokia Maps completely free and can it be used without an internet connection? Can I downloa... moreNokia Maps is free to install, if you use map uploader you won't need an internet connection to use the map feature unless you use sat imaging.
Never the less, if you wish to use GPS/A-GPS functions, driving/walking directions, and other services other then the basic "map" feature you'll have to pay a monthly/quarterly/anual fee.
I hope that answers your question =)
