smack, 14 Jul 2011This is the best phone in nokia as far as it is,cost to value.. it provides all the necessary ... moreHi, I have some recomendations up my sleeve. ;)

If you like symbian, I highly suggest N8. But it may be a little too expensive, but don't worry, there is also C7 which is cheaper and has lots of kool features of N8. There is also C6-01 which is the cheapest of all symbian^3. There is also E7 which is too expensive and has a full QWERT keaboard. And newly released X7.

Alternatively you could wait for N9, but it will feature Meego as OS, and should be costly.

If you want a change of OS, I recommend Android. If you are on a budget, I'd say take a look at these phones: Samsung Galaxy S, Xperia X10, HTC Desire and it varients. These are one year old phones which are good. I thing Xperia X10 is the cheapest among them.

Now if you want to buy something new and powerful, you should really consider Samsung Galaxy S II, HTC Sensation. These two has dual core CPUes.

    Well, hope it's been helpful.

Since the set is fully touch pad,
      then how about test messaging.

I din't think without qwerty full keyboard
      its quite difficult for

      SMS operation,
      phone book entry,
scrolling up and down left and right is problem without key.

        Fair touch screen sensitivity

great music player and web browser

camera is good but auto focus can be annoying due to most of the times you can't rely on automatic mode for bad focusing that will lead to blurred image.

battery life is fair design is good..

        all in all 7.5 rating

Reza, 14 Jul 2011Thanks for the advice, but even with those, the pictures are inferior even to pictures taken w... morethe update will roll sometime in august. i can't wait either too. i don't want to buy any new nokia smartphones that came out. i'll use this phone till it breaks (ie. the screen stops working) or till nokia discontinue the support for it.

yup, the sensor size has to do with average photos, however the night or night portrait scene modes capture better photos than the automatic scene mode during the night.

therock, 13 Jul 2011to capture good pictures at night or with low light change the scene mode to night or nigh portrait. Thanks for the advice, but even with those, the pictures are inferior even to pictures taken with 5230 (which has a 2mp camera and no flash). I'm not exaggerating in anyway, cause my buddy has a 5230 and we have tested it when we were coamping sometime ago. You can also search the net to find proof of this. I read somewhere on the net that it has something to do with the sensor size. I must also add that camera performance in daylight is good. In any case, 5800 still is a good choice. Hope new update comes soon. I really want to test the new frimware. Best of wishes

the Flash Lite 3.0 is NOT the Torch Light. its a flash player used to play the You Tube.

your computer is using Adobe Flash Player 10.1 (whatever the latest version is available) , thats why you computer can play almost every video

the nokia N8 is using Flash Lite 4.0.

btw if you want to have a torch light for your phone search "Think Flash or BrightLight" in the OVI Store
                                cheers..

This is one of the best phones ever produced. But it's old now and the camera performance in night is just horrible. If you want to buy 5800, you'd better off with C5-03. It has a 5 mp camera and takes good pictures even in low light conditions. The only drawback of C5-03 is its video recording which is 640*360@15 fps. But people hardly use phones to make videos. Pictures are more important.
