Anonymous, 20 Jan 2009i want to get this phone but in my country they told me that they are all chinese made, so i'm... morebetter say it is not Chins made but china assembled in my my view no quality problem works fine
To all who criticize this phone and compare it to the Iphone, please remember the difference of the price tag. For whatever problems you do have and the qualms against it not performing as well as the Iphone, the price tag answers everything. Tell me, Would you expect a 5610 to deliver the same goods as an n85? no! That's the same issue here.
give an thumbsup or criticise it man should i buy it man some more real facts woul;d make it clear
subhash talwar, 20 Jan 2009please dont buy this phone i am having major problems with this one . first the build quality ... moretake your set to the nearest nokia care they'll fix the ear piece in 5-10mins using your warranty(free).
5800 has proximity sensor which turns the phone off(lock)in specified time, check the settings.
anyone found out how to turn on the secondary camera or does it only work during video calls?
"speaker volume fluctuation"
for those of you still observing the fluctuation in volume during calls, please take your set to the nearest noklia care centre they'll fix it in no time. i had same problem now it's as good as new. don't try to open your set and fix it, you might end up damaging it or voiding the warranty!
"nokia 5800 photo quality remedy"
ps: info posted below is entirely my opinion and non other.
first it's true 5800 picture quality and UI is below expectation. my n78 photo quality same 3.2mp is way better compared to 5800.
back to subject, 5800 allows you to define your own custom photo settings. after playing around with the settings trying to find a way to improve picture quality, i was able to get a better setting which i now use to take photos similar to n78 quality.
-> goto camera, open user defined and make following changes:
1.based on scene mode, select "night".
2. sharpness,select "soft"
you may choose to leave every other setting the way it is.
this will improve the picture quality but don't forget it's still a 3.2mp
it's too early to start whining about the poor performance of 5800, be patient and let nokia release an update to firmware and all will be fine :-)
