zaheed, 19 Jan 2009well u need to download those sftwares from donload button in ur nokia phone! i have download... moreHow do U download and its fine. Can any body else to instruct how to download - please help with this process
rk, 20 Jan 2009zaheed bro !! :) wats up ?? ur phone is made in hungary ??? d 5800 here is made in china !!... morehey man! Thanx for asking! Ya everything is going fine here! I am relly happy with the handset, its awesome. By the mercy of God i don't have anyproblem at all, i have seen the chinese one, i dont know if its me or not but it looked old. And alot of complains coming from the users of the chinese versions,it also creaks while typing. Now to the typing msg topic The set is a great asset to type in. Most of my writing in here is done by it. And typing wes the main reason i sold my 2months old perfectly ok n79 for it. The full qwerty is a blessing, and its one of the finest and fastest thumbboard available in market, its even better than iphone's by mobile-review . Com. ANd the handwriting is lso great. The abc is as like a normal phone but the mini qwerty is totaly useless! But who needs that when u have the full one. Its really easy and fast to type here. But u need to get used to it. I am also a first time user of touch phones and it took me half a day to get used to it. Infact i love typing with it so much that i frequently write notes and keep it as a daily journal! Mine one made in hungary as uhave guessed it by now, please don't but the chinese one. In our coumtry the difference of price was 100$ in between the two but i still opted for the costlier but better Hungarian one as i read the reviews of the users of the chinese ones! I hope it helps u and wish u best of luck in buying this piece of gem!
Should I go for 5800 or N96 . I need a quick answer please ; of course with some arguments . I'd go for 5800 but I heard a lot about the ear speaker issue :(
the fact is "the more you spend, the more you get".if you really want a touch screen phone then plz try to get HTC.if you can't spend then get the 5800
zaheed, 19 Jan 2009congrats man! but did u get bose or the bluetooth headset????i did`t get blue tooth head sets
I got mine a couple of weeks back and i am really happy with it. I am however facing an issue with download. Everytime i go download it gives me an unrecoverable error and shuts down the application. I am able to browse the internet just fine otherwise. I guess some hanging download has corrupted something. Does anyone has any idea on how to rectify it.
zaheed, 20 Jan 2009u are welcome! Don't worry u r going to get used too it! Well as for me i have this baby for t... morezaheed bro !! :)

Just got the phone yesterday for PhP 19,190 here in the Philippines ($400). The phone is really, really great! I don't regret buying it.
It has minor flaws, though (got the firmware v10) but it can be fixed by a firmware upgrade (v11 - latest). That's understandable since it was just released recently. Most nokia smartphones started with buggy firmwares, anyway.. nothing new about it.
I have to agree that the camera's not good but it's understandable it was not intended to be built as CAMERA phone but a MUSIC phone thus the suffix "XpressMusic".
The 5800's speakers are very very good (for a phone). Great bass and volume.
Of the four input methods, I still prefer to use the alphanumeric since I can compose messages faster with it. The other methods are still great, though, but slower (for me).
The phone's touch UI is responsive. You just need know and get used to the right amount of pressure so that the phone will respond to your commands.
THINGS THAT YOU MIGHT WANT TO KNOW BEFORE BUYING THIS PHONE:
Landscape Mode / Autorotate DOES NOT work in Standby Screen
There are only few available symbian applications as of this date that are compatible with 5800 XM. The phone may allow you to install them but there is a big tendency that the symbian app will crash once you start using it.
You will need to install v11 firmware (or the latest) right away so that the phone won't indicate "Expired Certificate!" when you install some symbian applications.
got the phone today :-). Gave it to many people to try. Guess what!!! everyone liked it. Nobody complained about the touch screen responsiveness, it was great.
All my colleagues admired the 5800. Will updated my experience in the next 3-4 days.
mark, 20 Jan 2009this phone has a lot of problems..... like the one famous earpiece bug. then a lot others like... moreso it seems da prb iz nt in dis cel phone rather than in ur very own eyez. cnt u c wat i hav told..stay outta here. dnt tel a single word widout being xperienced it. heard a lot bout dis earpiece n its no more true here.
5800 has good features, but itseems the quality of camera and UI is not good. Can someone specify a phone with similar features of 5800, but without those problems? Urgent..need to buy a phone immediatly
does the GPS system require connection using WIFI or it can b use juz like the GPS system tt is installed on our car???
this phone has a lot of problems..... like the one famous earpiece bug. then a lot others like OS instability, very bad camera , lack of previous telephony options, poor sunlight legibility, lack of office apps....etc etc.
it is the phone for only music lovers coz in this department it is really good.
the battery life is also good.
[deleted post], 20 Jan 2009Oh, Allan please teach me how to change my IP?
You see I always use an iPhone and skip from... moreKids can sign contracts according to you, can they legally drink alcohol as well?
What about that tissue application, touch screen phones need to be cleaned!
Hi the problem you faced is the same one i experienced too.
Basically its a bug even in the new 11 update. It seems it would not install or let you install downloaded files. But fret not.
Firstly back up everything to you microSd card,
then after safely doing it reboot your phone
OK let me start off in order
1. With CZ cam=good pictures right? Wrong. I've been using nokia n73 and the camera takes better pictures than the 5800. It seems the lighting is pretty bad. Especially indoors.
2. Wifi. The wifi connection is very good on this phone. Though it lacks some features in their Flash part, which can't load you tube videos. I've tried 10 vids and only 3 worked. Hope it will be fixed soon.
3. Slow response. And single touch. That means it can only respond to one finger. No offense but the Iphone has a better touch screen. On the other hand Nokia just started its few batch of touch phones so its yet to be improved
4. Lovely Music Player. Guys/Girls if your looking for a nice stereo sound phone with lots of memory (8gb) or (16gb) then get this phone. I might not know about the other nokias' sound system but this my friends is superb.
5. UI rotation= Not very good. When turning the phone the response is alright but when tilting it just slightly to the left the screen changes back. I found this annoying especially when viewing pictures and typing texts. Can't change the sensitivity on the rotation. Even with the 11.x.xxx update, there is no adjustment bar. And the tilt is only to one side, unlike the iphone.
6. The battery only lasts for a max of 2 days. Even on standby. With the use of messaging and wifi, and gps it could last only a day or less. Depends on usage.
Well conclusion. Overall grade 8/10. Till they fix the rotation sensitivity then It might be better.
P/S. Unbiased, I'm using the Iphone only to give a picture of what would the phone seem like. Most things are the same as the Apple Iphone. So yea. Iphone killer Nokia 5800. Hope it does.
Apple over charges for everything.
