This is so far the best music phones and probably win the 2008 Mobile Phone award for music phones.
Congrats to Team Nokia.
Hell of a phone....would b a killer in India if priced under 20k...wonderful specs...hope the UI is as promising as it looks
made in china?
omg...my n81 is made in finland
my moto e8 is made in china
dont u think its only assembled in china but the parts is from different places in the world? but, if it is so, then the label would say assembled in china.
Moto Q uses windows mobile.........hav u seen ur used that phone? its WACKED
windows mobile gives u access to ur office documents(word, excel, power point).quick office in Nokia symbian phones provide u with the same options.u can view ur office documents (and even create and edit those documents with the E-Series), also sync ur data with the MS outlook.people should stop critizing a phone they`ve never seen and know notin abt.Really, they just won`t accept there is a better phone than the one they have.
Victor if u had checked u would have found out that almost all new phones are made in China. This is the case of iphones sony ericssons and all sorts of other phones so if this model of nokia will be produced there i don;t think it will be a problem. And i don;t think it is 100% certain that will be produced in China
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Get 5800xm. HTC have never been good with cameras, sound and battery life. Plus 5800 is much more cheaper.
There seems to be a gang of HTC/WM invaders flooding this forum and spreading all sorts of lies. Dont listen 2 them. They are just jealous that their phones cant outperform the 5800xm.
Symbian has more applications than any other OS.
Symbian needs less processing than WM.
Symbian doesnt drain the battery as much as WM coz symbian has less processing issues.
Symbian is capable of showing more than 16m colors while WM is restricted to only 65k.
Symbian graphic performance is superb hence they dont really need a 3d graphics chips. These are only reserved for high end models.
At the end of the day, the 5800xm is a symbian multimedia powerhouse (it should be considered as high-end) that is durable, affordable and can meet the needs of most users adequately.
nezar, 13 Oct 2008Nokia`s s60 is much more stable than WM platform! and its easier to handle, consume
less batt... moreNokia doesn't own Symbian. OS's don't consume much power. WinMo has more applications, and many can be ported from Symbian but not vice versa due to hardware demands.
Colour doesn't determine how much better a screen is. Nokia doesn't have better hardware. Most Nokia's feel cheap.
Your comparing the whole range of Nokia's to just some WinMo phones (N95 is dearer than most WinMo phones).
The main reason 5800 will be successful is because it is priced modestly, targeting the mid-range market where most buyers lie.
Anonymous, 13 Oct 2008It is really cute nokia 5800 very good multimedia including designing, feature, performance bu... moresome one had asked a question that why this set does not hve a window mobile , and this nokia touch screen phone is cheap, i think if this phone had windows software then the price will be high.but company should bring advanced version of this model with windows

Pat, 13 Oct 2008Could anyone clarify whether it syncs using Active Syn with MS outlook? or one needs nokia tool?I don't think any of the Nokia sets uses (or will use) Active Synch. This is their rival techonology. No?
In every model, Nokia does leave an important function which is available in much lower cost models. So what shortcoming is there in this model, I don't know yet, but I surely will like to know before I spend my money on it.
Though by reading features list, one seems to be satisfied. Better battery mAH, bigger screen. xpress music. TV out (like N95?)
By the way, what does stylus plectrum mean?
Could anyone clarify whether it syncs using Active Syn with MS outlook? or one needs nokia tool?
I don't get it why the first touch screen phone of nokia turned out to be just a mid-ranged phone. its an E series with a touch screen?
