Andu, 06 Jan 2011Hello. I've been using a Nokia 5800XM for almost a year, but in the last few weeks I realized ... moreokay i've heard that present type of batt can stand up to 300-400 times being recharged.
to your past experience on the batt is okay cos its normal the batt can last for about 2days.
maybe its time to change your batt...
this is my practice on batt care:
-to charge it before it fully drain
-dont overcharged it
-i only charged after phone give a few low batt warning
-fully drain the batt once a month and full recharged
certains apps also are kept open in the memory even after you closed it so maybe this another batt eater too n some phone themes too is a batt eater..

Andu, 06 Jan 2011Hello. I've been using a Nokia 5800XM for almost a year, but in the last few weeks I realized ... moreWell stating the obvious ,you need a new battery. The batterys only last so long and its impossible to gaurantee when it will start to not hold its charge..
Here is a tip tho,,if you have got it on contract of 18 months or 24 months then you would expect the battery to last that long.Since it hant then this is a fault,,a genuine fault because you signed a contract for the device to work for that length of time..If the device breaks down thru normal wear and tear then the device has not lasted until the time in which you are STILL paying for it..
So you are correct to ask for a new battery and i have never come across ANY carrier who would like to be shown up for not suppling a new battery..They sold you the 18-24 month contract saying the device will work for that long..If it does not then they have broke the contract of sale.
You might say i have not mentioned 12 month contracts but you have gone past that mark so did not include it..The same applys for 12 month contracts..
The 5800 has been one of nokias better efforts altho if they do not address peoples comments on bugs they will not be here in 2 years time.
I want them to give everyone who bought the n97 a big refund on a new Nokia for the sheer hell they have put people thru..
Hello. I've been using a Nokia 5800XM for almost a year, but in the last few weeks I realized that my phone's battery life-time drastically decreased. Before, I was talking aproximately 2.5 hours/day and sending almost 100 sms'/day and the life-time battery was almost 2 days, but nowdays with the same daily-usage, the battery goes under ~5% in less than 24 hours. I have to mention that the phone hasn't any virus, i haven't installed any application on it, I've just made some software-updates.
I'd like to receive some answers from the experienced fellows about this issue.
ps: Sorry for my bad english, I'm from Romania.

Anonymous, 06 Jan 2011Can someone please help me with my Nokia 5800? I have been charged with tremendous mobile inte... morehi there... firstly...go to
settings> connectivity>destination>network destinations choose options>default connection "put as always ask"
2ndly ....at the (again).... network destinations
u'll see folders :
access point, internet, multimedia msg, uncategorised, and so on ...
open each folder and go all the access point which shows your service provider name and click..then scroll down to "prompt password" and change to "yes" (key in the password if you want to)
after u done all this test your phone by going a place where it have wifi connections...
then start browsing the net..
now your phone will ask you: select connection between
1. search for wlan
2.the wifi conenction available
3.your service provider access point
so choose the wifi connection..
NOW IF you choose your service provider access point, it will ask u for the password.
IF your phone ask u for the password it mean your phone wont simply connect to the net using the service provider dataline... so u'll not be charged by your telco if u use the internet.
IT also means u have followed the above procedure correctly
there is a search "tap" on my homescreen.... how do i remove it?
Hi guys, been using an E63 for a long time and contemplating on replacing it with a 5800. Do you think this will be a wise move?
