varry, 20 Dec 2010how do i updat my software???????? and should i take out my mem card?Use "Nokia Ovi Suite" for upgrades and to transfer data. Definitely remove the memory card and also copy the 81 mb's of internal memory such as contacts and phone numbers cause you'll lose em !
Had my phone for 5 months now. All the functions work great. Takes great pictures especially at night with duel flash. Used half of the 8 gigs memory card for music which sounds and plays great. It's sturdy as hell and I like the weight as it feels just right. The only downside is the touch screen can be a little sluggish at times and the duel flash really kills the battery. However I found so many really cool add-ons like all types of diffident themes. My phone now has a level, 2 different types of compass, strobe light and a flashlight. For the price, you can't beat it, I'm really happy with this phone !!!
Its the best phone so far (for me). After i upgrade its firmware to v52, its faster and the screen color is nice. The sound is better than before and the kinetic scrolling is very fast. My only problem is some apps need to be signed b4 you install it. But im totally satisfied with my 5800. Just upgrade the firmware and you'll experience the difference.

Anonymous, 13 Dec 2010update to v52......its has best turning controlcan you please tell me how to do it?
I have bought a 5800 just for it's music capabilities. I hope it can match my N91 for sound.
Already given up my iPhone (For music) and iPod because the sound wasn't good.
N91 is the KING of sound. Let's see how the 5800 can match it.
hi any one know the MULTI PLAYER games playing through bluetooth. please give me the details
Anonymous, 20 Dec 2010The way some of you praise this low end phone is crazy. If its all that great and best phone e... moreGive me one good function that the phones you've mentioned can do that 5800 can't! And considering the price you give for this phone is quiet less than any other phone right now. It has every function to meet the basic needs of a good smartphone. If you want better features, than buy the N8 or iPhone4 by paying more! That's simple. 5800 is the best!
I have this phone and it's brilliant, if anyone knows of a better phone for the price I'd like to know.
I'm having two problems since I bought this phone which was about 2 years ago. I am wondering if anyone has a solution:
1. LED flashlight does not stay on in video recording mode. It turns on and after a second goes back off. I also tried an application to use the LED as a flashlight but it responds the same.
2. Camera quality is below standard, comparing to the friends' phones which been bought recently. Please let me know if there is a driver separately for camera.
What I need to add is that I have had every update until 51 and they have not been fixed.
The way some of you praise this low end phone is crazy. If its all that great and best phone ever, What of E7,N8,Wave,Iphone, HTC Desire etc. Note nokia has other very great phones which will make 5800 look like crap(N8,N97,900 etc). This means you are only exposed to very very cheap and basic phones and no idea on what a smart phone should have.
Point out the critical things and not a blurry of meaningless words.
Onyx, 18 Dec 2010Hi guys I would like to ask abt the difference bet capacitive and resistive? Im sorry im a noo... moreHi men, they are two referent technology. A capacitive screen detects the capacitance variation across the screen, in simple terms it detects the motion of electrons from your figures to the screen hence allowing multi touch while a resistive touch screen register the pursue applied on the screen that require a firm press on the screen for any thing to get registered while you just need to give a simple touch on capacitive screens.they both have their equal share of advantages. multi touch is only possible in capacitive screens but you need to touch them with your skin that means you can't use glows our stylus, but capacitive stylus and glows are available in the market now.the biggest disadvantage of capacitive extend for me is you need to rely on your proximity sensor, any touch in your face can disconnect our put your call on hold in case your proximity sensor malfunctions, again there is no proof but proximity sensors detect nearby objects by emitting radio waves, so it can harm your brain tissues in long run, but no proof as I said and its just a speculation. Try wikipedia if you have more doubts in the screen technologies. I hope I was helpful
