hey, im a new user to this phone.
i just found out that the camera on this phone is not very good quality .

ATTN PLSSS!!! the above issue is dated 13 FEB 2009! about 5 months after its this model launched...so this is and old problem
i bought mine in Sept 2009 and now its Dec 2010! Alhamdulillah.. no such prob todate...
recently i realised my phone doesnt hang /restart for 9 days!! it should be able to stand until 10th day but i forgot to recharged the batt that all..
during the period i also simply opened as many apps i can...my 5800 is still okay no freeze and no restart. in fact to avoid restart my phone just terminate the unused apps to maintain its RAM thus allowing other apps to run. The are times the RAM drops to below 5MB!
how to achived this? i've install
1)memory up pro (to boost the RAM)
2)Swiss Manager Pro S60 v3.00 by CellPhoneSoft( for RAM monitoring & apps management)
be an advanced users you'll enjoy more of this model

Anybody who see something like this ^^ after unlocking phone should go to the Nokia Care Center and give them phone for LCD replacement. 99% this is hardware problem. In the beginning you can unlock/lock you phone several times to get normal screen, after some time this will be too much annoying because it'll be even worse, so, another temporary fix is very bright background (or theme) because it's something faulty with the turning on the screen (because you unlocked your phone) with darker colors on it.

There are many people who already had this problem. This can be a new big problem for Nokia and all 5800 owners, again. Hope you're not gonna get it, like me.

I had downloaded the new version of 5800 which is v52.0.007....and i just enjoy new features of my phone. before, i want to buy nokia X6, but now, i find that 5800 can be X6. their difference is only the camera. i saved my money and i loved my 5800 at all...its NICE!!!

varry, 20 Dec 2010how do i updat my software???????? and should i take out my mem card?Use "Nokia Ovi Suite" for upgrades and to transfer data. Definitely remove the memory card and also copy the 81 mb's of internal memory such as contacts and phone numbers cause you'll lose em !

Had my phone for 5 months now. All the functions work great. Takes great pictures especially at night with duel flash. Used half of the 8 gigs memory card for music which sounds and plays great. It's sturdy as hell and I like the weight as it feels just right. The only downside is the touch screen can be a little sluggish at times and the duel flash really kills the battery. However I found so many really cool add-ons like all types of diffident themes. My phone now has a level, 2 different types of compass, strobe light and a flashlight. For the price, you can't beat it, I'm really happy with this phone !!!

Its the best phone so far (for me). After i upgrade its firmware to v52, its faster and the screen color is nice. The sound is better than before and the kinetic scrolling is very fast. My only problem is some apps need to be signed b4 you install it. But im totally satisfied with my 5800. Just upgrade the firmware and you'll experience the difference.
