Ninad, 18 Nov 2010Does current version of Nokia 5800 Xpress Music comes with 'Capacitive' touch screen??no it comes with resistive screen only, but i have pocket piano app which has multi-touch and works pretty well on my n5800

i hav used 5800 for almost 1 year....no doubt itz gud infact very gud but after 5 to 6 month u wil strt facing many problem like hanging n also touch creats problems while writing u press 7 screen shiws 9 like dis...n sometime to keep touching on screen bt screen wil not responding n u hav to lock n unlock d phone r restrt it..so my advice z if u want to use it den use it jst for 6 months bcoz wen u strt facing probs it ruind ur mood...like me i throgh it on floor n broke it...so i hope my comment wil help u..for u beters option z dat never by it bcoz its 1st touch phone by nokia n hav many problems....i think u shud go for 5530 or c6 ot Motorola ROKR ZN50...thanko....

SAMANTHA, 16 Nov 2010i recently took out a mtn contract wid a nokia 5800 ever since i got da fone its been troublin... moreI agree with you... I've had this phone for 6 months on a Virgin Mobile contract... absolute WORST phone I've ever owned!! so many bugs, its insane... and of course they wont take it back!! stuck with this crap for another 18 months... aargh!!!

When i got this phone. It was slow as heaven, i thought i've just wasted my money. It was firmware V20 at that time.
when i updated to firmware V51, the latest one. Its working much faster as hell, and now, no hanging problems at all.
I would recomand to try upgrading to V51 through Nokia updater or ovi suite. you will feel difference in speed.
But, if you want a better phone then any iphone. Go for N900 or N8.

its great phone and i am using it for last one year.but its foolishness to buy this phone today as there are better options today as compared to last year. we have capacitative screen in x6 in the same price range or htc wildfire or dell 35 or c6 so better go for that as they are better in many ways. And yes we the nokia5800 family keep enjoying this mobile and keep updating this segment about the latest happenings in 5800 world.
i m still thinking abt going for c6 fw as its running smoothly. any new updates round the corner ???

I can say that this phone is much advanced than iPhone 4 and any Android powered phone. I can't understand why Nokia people decided to change their course under the pressure of Apple and started producing crappy phones recently. Nokia 5800XM is definitely a winner in in any aspect.
