I purchased this phone in Dec. 2009 and it now has major problem with the screen; the screen freezes with continous grey lines across.I contacted a friend who owned a simlar model who complained of the same problem.Nokia should admit that this phone was experimental and make refunds.

Anonymous, 29 Oct 2010have problem with my handset- there is no sound in right side of headphones pls helpgo to ur music player> play a song>options>and check if u hv turned d balance to left..if so turn it to medium..do this and tell me if it works..

Amr bee, 30 Oct 2010thanks dj, i applied 4 cert n key @opda n waitin to have'em soon. if i got the mobile sis sig... moreyes transfer the cer and key to your mobile when you get it..then go to the settings of the sis signer software and select the location the cer and key..well i dont use kepersky but i use netqin..try it..you can get it from mobile9.com...there are many good sftwares on mobile9.com...try them out..

i thought this phone is not video light capable just like n97 but further experiment, i found out it can also do video light (capture video with lights on).

U can organise menus but take care nt 2 remove or insert ur mem card widout switchin off ur fone,else ul get d same prob again.....

Do nt update anytng else, ul slow down ur fone
And if u wana find ur missin apps
Check
Menu>Settings>App Manager>Installed Apps>'Name of ur game'.....

i bought 5800xm 2wks ago, i guess its a gr8 device although old somehow but still comparable to the new mobiles, so when u include the price in the comparison; 5800 wins easily :)
i've some questions 4 5800 experts around:
1- to install unsigned apps wts better, to hack the phone (hello ox & ...) or to get a cetificate and sign my apps on pc?
2- about SW update (icon in applications menu) should i update every thing available, as 4 me it gets updates 4 nokia messaging, ovi contacts, ovi maps, ovi music. i'm afraid to update sthg so it deletes my data or settings, wt to do?
3- the only problem happened till now is: i organized the menu n took the games 4m applications into a folder named it games in the root menu, 6hrs later i found my mobile on the default theme (sound wave) and the (games) folder renamed by itself to (applications) and it's EMPTY, how did this happen n will it happen again (i'm afraid to organise anything in the menu :( , i liked the preinstalled games (bounce n ?? gt), btw i searched 4 any of the games by x-plore n it found nothing
4- any succesful hack for kaspersky9?

my 5800 has colored screen lines. I always try2 lock and ulock the lock screen2get ride of this problem and sometimes restart device or remove battrey. I really get bored. I wish nokia2fix this problem v soon in new firmware update and add the new internet browser plus flash lite 4 or flash 10.1 . Regards

I’ve had the phone for a couple months now and I quite like it. A good music player is important to me and the 5800 has far better speakers than the Sony E’s I’ve been using. As far as dedicated music button just change your home screen shortcut. Unfortunately you have to slide the spring loaded button to unlock the phone and change the volume or tracks and that’s not a pain. My battery power registers full all the time which must be fixed. Aside from these 2 things I’m happy with it.

i buy this phone in July,every phone have some good and bad things,this phone have some of them..
my experience with this phone is same..
when i buy this phone it was restarting several times..so i check in nokia..they reset phone problem solved..
gps works great,best,no words,accurate...
sound loud but earphone not good..
camera,if you take several pic with different settings than you can know effect of camera.
at night use night portrait,it will take pic in no light condition..use your photography skill for take good pic..
video playback is very good..i download good hd flv video and convert in mp4.i watch full movie on 8gb card and some hd video..no hanging..work great..
in my memcard i have mp3 more than 2gb two full movie and some hd video and software installed...
in this phone bad things is spring sliding unlock system..really it is worse thing nokia give..my advice go ovistore and install nUnlock software..its very good option for unlock without using sliding system.
currently i am facing phone heating prob..battery heat so much...some time i remove it and put outside..i can't use phone continuously it get heat...
this phone is very good accept some of this bad things..its has every thing what i want best and free gps,good camera,wifi,good sound,good screen for video.browsing good over wifi..so happy with accepting few bad thing..

this phone really sucks! 1st i gt a problem with flash light, then proximity sensor now its about red cut key, and always restarting, dnt buy mine 1 hungarian plz dnt buy try n97
