2. I use Sony MDR XB-120. Mostly music i hear are hip hop, rnb and electronic. It produces good sound and powerfull but not excessive bass though without tweaking EQ. Sometimes i listen to Pink Martini too using the headphone and it's good to me.

Not sure about N81. But seems nokia lower audio chip on recent xpress music line due to pressure cost of the phones (and also general users just care about bass, loud volume, don't care about detils).
But bear in mind that audio quality is subjective matter. In audio lab, ipod touch has perfect audio quality but lots of people don't like it.
Also you need to buy a good pair of headphone to get good audio quality. Good audio device with poor headphone is useless.

It has a deep bass and looks good in white. The only drawback is that it isolates you completely from the world even at low volumes due to it's in-ear design!

[deleted post]not until android or bada on nokia phones...D android runs this SE phone n this SE phone (comes with 3G cant do video call. XM5800 is much cheaper at point of its launching compared to this SE phone but 5800 have video call.. there are other brands of latest smartphone but dont have font cam.. So if android or Bada runs on Nokia maybe we should consider until then if Nokia still uses symbian so be it..sorry no offence ..cheers..

True the B81 has more volume and bass but if you observe the overall quality of the 5800 is slightly better. Also the 5800 has the best external sound with it's load quality stereo speakers..

The headphones provided with 5800 are good but not best in class, try the 5800 over like Ipod headphones... The bass, loudness and quality is amazing!

I compared my 5800's music volume with an outdated n81 and found that n81 has a more thump in its volume than 5800! I used the free senn. headphones in both & had the same equalizer & settings. But the difference between the 2 phones is really vast in terms of volume! I think 5800 doesn't have that high volume like n-series phones. The review tells that technically 5800 has a better audio quality in every aspect than the other!
