All you need to do is take it to nokia centre and it will be repaired free of charge if your phone is still under warranty. If not under warranty, the you will be charged for the lcd replacement. It happened to me last year november and was replaced free.

pls help me brothers.. im from India.my cousine bought me a new 5800 from Dubai 2 months b4.. it was really a good fone.. but recently some problems happening.when i unlock the fone using the side slide switch the display of the fone bcoms corrupted (strange lines and blurriness)but it goes after re-locking and unlocking.. and it will be normal again ..what to do ?? it costs around 2500 for changing display ?? ic ant afford dat now.. any one pls help me wid this !!! i really love dis fone ...

i updates my 5800 4hrs back n soon i found 2 realy big problms...i wantd to know if its only who is getting dis problm or evry1.bcoz nobody has mentiond dem till nw..
1). i am getting no option to save file wen i reciev a file from bluetooth.i tried to open it many tyms bt found no optn to save it.
2) i hav abt 450 songs in ma phone..and new music playr dnt have a option to search them in the list..
am screwed up...I NEEED v40 BACKKK!!!!!

In India Nokia sells 5800 XM with out the Tv Out hardware...ref http://www.nokia.co.in/find-products/products/nokia-5800-xpressmusic/specifications , you'd be lucky if you can find old 5800's with Tv out ...
Btw Nokia is in what is called a re-usability / profit maximization phase so you'd see more and more phones with different bits and pieces put together like the c6..

so, i just upgraded to the new firmware OA, its good .. kinetic scrolling is everywhere, better camera, the music player changed, and some more options here and there... its worth the upgrade !

I Have upgraded to the firmware version of 4.0 and the Kinetic Scrolling are working and all but Nokia released firmware V5.0 on April 19. Is it available in India to update via PC?

what does the V.50 bring with it, i just downloaded it and th only diffenect is the music player, slightly different. what else does it have?

had 5800 for 10 months. had trouble with having to switch off regularly as it "drops out"or freezes. Now I have had to send it back for repair cause the backlight has gone in it - was told this is modern technology. Would reconsider if u r looking at getting this phone - think it is a bit of a dud for Nokia

I cud not say anything bad about Nokia 5800 XM except for its stylus. I suggest that perhaps a stylus metal would be make 5800 XM more stylish and durable. By the way, what comes after this model?

Hey here's info for software upgrade for the Phil..You can try to upgrade all product code via Nokia Care (Ali Mall) to V.40. The frontliner will tell you that they're not assuring that it will fully work, since V.40 has so many software gliches still, but don't worry after upgrading to V.40, you can easily upgrade to V.50 via OTA..
