Is a very powerfull device. But never underestimate the power of a 5 directions scroll like in SE P900. It allows to move along the screen without touching it. Very usefull when looking for contacts numbers and plenty off other stuffs.

-software of the phone is very stable, it doesnt hangs as the people quote, but it does, when-
-you install s60v3 softwares, they create some instability in the operating system, yes they do run most of the times, but along with that they do leave some mark, whether its an instability issue, battery draining issue, or phone hangs and restarts automatically.
Technically, it receives some exception which cant be handled and thus phone shuts down and restarts.
(reason many application sites from where we people download cracked software/applications are generally for s60v3 as there are very less s/ws for s60v5, so site admins test them on s60v5 if successful they say it can run on s60v5, but most of the time they are incompatible)
-while browsing yes browser hangs when ram space is less or when heavy flash website is accessed, but very few times browser shuts down on its own...
-Memory card problem is arised nowdays only with very few people, but I must say you can consider it as a problem.
- Resistive touch is great, if you update to new version of firmware.
-other positives include its rough and tough and have good battery life.
Negatives in my case is no divx/xvid/avi support till now.
No, usb charging.
Still pictures are mediocre but video recording is above average.
(this all is based on my personal experiences rest I feel phone is very good according to its price)

At my side its software problem.
So what I do is restart the phone and problem gets solved...
Try this buddy hope it helps and do reply if it helped or not, so we get to know if it can be corrected in future firmware updates.

There are many people who are completely satisfied with the TUBE.
on contrary there are many, who are facing hanging problems, memory card problem, camera problem.. blah.. blah...
So, plz help me to clarify ma doubts....

A pity though that the 5800xm does not give you an option to choose between connection options like the E51 does. Perhaps a firmware upgrade is necessary.
No, I have not fiddled with Service provider specific GPRS services as this would affect MMS, etc.

It seems you're not concerned about these features.
You seem to be concerned about camera and Nokia brand.
Also price obviously will be in picture.
Check out : Nokia 5230 Nuron, 6303 classic, E63.
If camera is very important than 6303 is your phone.

B, 22 Mar 2010I am having difficulty with the 'dialer' and 'end call'keys on the phone, they do not work. Fo... moreyou installed some incompatible software or s60v3 software on it...
Which generally makes the home screen button irresponsive.
What you need to do is a Hard Reset by typing *#7370#
Or
Switch off your mobile now press RED key, GREEN key, CAMERA button key and by holding it switch on your mobile and the Hard Reset follows.
(do remember to backup your phone data before doing either of the process)
After that your problem is solved.

I am having difficulty with the 'dialer' and 'end call'keys on the phone, they do not work. For me to dial I have to press 'menu' key then press the dial key in order to make a call. Further, the shortcuts on the home screen do not show up and the 'dialer' and 'contacts' on the home screen do not work either. I have installed and reinstalled the latest device software and phone software updates etc and nothing has changed. What else can I do?

Uhm,there are TIPS TO MAKE YOUR 5800 IMPROVE QUALITY OF THE CAMERA.
1. REMOVE THE BACK COVER. AND YOU WILL SEE THE DIFFERENCE!
2. USE THE NIGHT MODE IN INDOORS.
Do not increase the contrast. Increasing contrast just improves the sharpness but is of no use.
Have a look at the pics above showing the image quality before and after.

hey guys. Those of you that still have complaint for 5800xm camera (although it works pretty well on the latest firmware) download, sign with your certificate and install "encam" then restart your phone and you will find your camera working much better. Here is the download link
