If you don't have, then connecting via Edge/3g is a must. however installing & downloading map can be done connecting to your computer via cable.

I am charged for my internet on fone. I want to use my OVI Maps 3 application just to test it.
So is there a way where i can use the internet on my computer to download the maps in my fone?????

I am disappointed with my 5800. The touch interface is immature, slow and very inconsistent. The Symbian S60v5 is very buggy (e.g. the Music Player Library got corrupted and I basically need to hack it). The welcome screen is very limited ito functionality. The OVI suite is a waste - why not stuck with the Nokia Suite? The OVI Maps is clumsy. I am not happy with this phone.

3 days after i bought it, i wanted to throw it away. It had several bugs and screen lagged most of the time. But, all wat you need to do is upgrading it. After i had upgraded it from V17 to 20, most of the bugs gone. Now, i am using v40, and guess what, even if i wanted to change my phone, i will keep it and buy a new one. It is a great balance between price and tasks and specifications expected. i love it

Hi Guys,
The handset is wonderfull I am using it for nearly 6 months no issues so far this is very useful to a novice who likes to test a touch phone so far compared to any other brand.
To anyone in India, pls purchase this phone thru Nokia priority u ll ve all the accesories which is provided by Nokia. The cost difference is only 300 or 400 rs higher but u ll get a genuine piece.
Moreover I love this phone from the date I purchased it coz it is very beautiful and worth for the 13k u pay...
Beleive me I reviewed it for nearly 1 yr and at last bought it after it has been reduced to nominal budget.

nokia, 02 Feb 2010no man only one stylus n i lost it ........ isnt it available locallygo to hotspot.. u can get stylus.. by d way u can fulfill d need of stylus using plectrum too..

Hello guys,
I have a problem concerning Ovi Maps on this phone. last week I was in Brussels and I tried maps application ( I hadn´t downloaded Ovi Maps yet) and appeared to work fine. So I came back to Spain where I live and upgraded my phone´s firmware to v31 and also donwloaded Ovi Maps, everything went ok till I noticed one thing... My location on the Ovi Maps !!!Still in Brussels!!! How come?
and this might sound a stupid question... does Ovi Maps needs to work connected to the internet, I mean you need to have a data plan in order to use it, or connected via WIFI, I remember Ovi Maps said to be FREE, so how does it work?

Can any one let me know about the lifetime of the TOUCHSCREEN in 5800? Is it possible to replace the touchscren alone(i.e the glass panel) in this phone if touchscreen doesn't work properly in future. If so how much it cost?
