this is a really good phone its got loud speakers good touch nie graphics u shud really get this phone
i challange that in this price range this mobile is the best ever mobile in india. yes i challange any one in this regard. and if any one still accepts my challange then i am sure that he/she is not aware of all the features and capabilities and standard of this mobile. i have this phone from the last 2 months and i am very much satisfied. all the functions are working very well. now nokia is giving 8gb card and a very cool headphone costing 2290/- free with the mobile. but now nokia is not giving the tv output cable with the mobile. BUT THE FUNCTION OF TV OUT IS STILL IN THE MOBILE. ANY ONE CAN PURCHASE THE CABLE AND CAN ENJOY THE TV OUT FUNCTION..
..................NOKIA 5800 ROCKS................
The new realeased of xpressmusic which is nokia 5800 is really great ...I hope I can watch tv using it for free.
Definitely great phone! Nokia really did their homework on this one. A high quality handset at a low price. I had no problems with it so far and I've had it for 4 months. Wroks GREAT! well done Nokia
As I recently bought this smartphone, I have completely forgotten Iphone 3G. The things which I have tested uptil now, apart from emailing, web browsing, some office applications, are streaming internet radio / video calling, very loud sound - it is awesome. You need to get good quality headphones to listen to the music. The new version of Nokia 5800, does not have tv out feature, seems they have disabled it. It would have been good to have it, but I don't really require it much because I have much better players which I can view on my tv. The resolution of the touch screen is very good.
All in all - it is much better compared to Samsung Corby Pro, as the Nokia's size fits in your pocket. But treat this phone as a special phone :D be careful while handling it...you have to be sophisticate to handle it ! Wifi connects instantly. You can watch youtube too, etc etc. Ovi.com is meant for Nokia.

TV out cable is quite poular & available in any electronics spares shop, costing aroung Rs.40-60. One having (input to tv) Red, Yellow, White pins in one side & a (output from phone) black pin (looking like headphone pin) going to the 3.5" jack of the phone (this end has 3 connector rings).
I bought one & it wrks for tv out of my zune, canon camera, & other media players.
I bought 5800 recently that came without TV out cable. I have not yet purchased a TV out cable. There is an option for TV out in the menu when you connect the headset jack into your phone. After reading confusing comments from many, whether TV out is there or not, I tried out by playing a video track through TV out option using my headset. The audio is perfectly working with the TV out option while using the headset. I hope the video output would also be there if I connect through a proper TV out cable. Can anyone tell me which is the compatible TV out cable for 5800?
Jst bought mine only 2 find dat my 8gb card is nt workin, wat bores me is dat dey tld me 2 return de whole box damn ws startin 2 enjoy ds phne, can any1 clarify me bout ds tv out thn,coz i ddnt find any cable?
Hi Frnz, I'm planning to buy 5800.
Can any one please help me out is this mobile god ad is there any prblem in ths mobile.
i have bought 580 1yr back .i've lost its data cable and tv out pin .where do i get it ..can any one assist me pls.
am using my sony dsc digicams tv out cable(3.5 mm) for my nokia 5800.it connects and works with a breeze. but u will not get so much quality to the movies than it really played on the pc. its bcoz of the conversion of the phone to av media by the phone ic. but if nokia release a new firmware upgrade for 5800 to improve the user interface, camera image acquisition quality, speed improvement, memory management, speedy switching of display rotation using accelerometer and some little bug fixes ..then it will defeat all the phones including n95 and n85 etc.. and the user will get great value for money for a great feature rich phone nokia 5800. but if nokia cleared all the problems with the next 5800 firmware upgrade, every user will go for 5800 and nokia will need to reduce the price of n85, n97-mini etc..in accordance with the price of 5800. i think they will not..they may stop the support for 5800 coz of the business purposes i think..

Now, my assumption is if it doesnt have the sticker, tv out is internally supported even if cable is not provided in the box. Right?>??.
Ahmed Gwad, 02 Jan 2010What is the firmware , Is it needed for my 5800??Firmware is computing term, usually used to denote fixed to enable basic function operation, also implementing for higher function.
Sure it is, you can check out your firmware *#0000#
On symbian 5th edition such as 5800 you can easily update your firmware via OTA (over the air) as it faster and requires lesser data than using NSU (Nokia Software Updater). Also you don't need to back up your data before update your firmware as it has data loss prevention.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Hi B.U.Rhat, how did u confirm "it has TV out". have u connected using a tv cable & make sure it works? or blindly believing some1's reply to ur message. i dont think that option is available again. [i can buy a cable anytime, but i heard no hardware supporting tv out is in the phones released after sept2009]. please let me know the details. im just waiting to buy 5800XM. but i "WANT" TV out more than any other jazzy UI feature.
