rhocey, 27 Nov 2009hi.. can anyone help me why my 5800 phone displayed "phone start up failed.. please contact re... morerestart your phone without the memory and sim.card. it will definitely start in offline mode (unless you messed up with system files or installed a corrrupted application or theme in the phone memory). NEVER install anything to the phone memory but to memory card.
Then insert sim card and memory card one by one restarting the phone each time and you will see which of those are making problems.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970I have same problem in my phone.i have givento repair to three times to nokia care for various reasons like touch problems,shortcut not working,hanging,not starting problem.

Nuwan there r no smileys on symbian phones.User40 interface is a lot easier 2 use.U have 2 get used to your symbian phone cause like u mentioned they drive u crazy,they r just like computers(stupid machines)&u have 2 learn 2 deal with it&get the hang of it,then u can manage everything on your phone.Good luck

the problem with nokia phones is the design/construction,looks cheap plastic and not enough compact design and solid built as its main rivals.another stupid thing ,the elevated borders around the 5800 display,good initiative for preventing the screen from scratch when facing a table surface,but when making your fingers sweep across the display to skip pictures,this elevated borders is just an annoying obstacle 4 the fingers,contrary to other touch screen phones with a totally flat front panel/display.........main menu icons,are too simple in colors/design and the 5800 is too bulky,with 3 simple buttons at the bottom of the display..........

when my phone was new i used to also say wow amazing phone n all that rubbish thing but now after 1month this phone started showing his colours within 1 months my screen was broken well its was my phoblem that my screen get broken but now bluetooth, radio and nokai web broser r not working after giving phone to nokia care ;((

go to your nearest nokia care centre.but i am feared to give the mobile to Nokia Care , they dont know how to operate , and they may scrach my mobile

i think fone is close to junk.fone on d run,lots of bugs ahead.i went to nokia care to have fix it but it made it more terrible,still they dont have d latest fw,i dont know what they'd done,now my fone hangs and displays black/blank in one of d menu

Just bought the 5800 2day but yet i never tested it so far. The salesman advice me that the 5800 has 2 edition. The 1st edition has the complete package and the 2nd has changed the package already. The 1st edition he said b4 you put anything in your unit like mp3's or watever you should go 1st to nokia to upgrade its OS for free means no charge just bring the receipt where you bought the unit coz since its the 1st edition lots of problem occurs like hung up problems especially when you played music and so forth but the 2nd edition in which nokia released now a days has already upgraded and the problems has already solved by nokia but the package its not complete anymore in the 2nd edition of 5800. I bought the 1st edition or 1st released of 5800 in the market coz it has the full complete package i wanted i'll just go to nokia to upgrade the OS b4 i put anything in my unit so that i won't experience any problem in the day comes =)
