Forget tv-out if there was a sticker saying tv-out not supported.
The day before i purchased the phone, the nokia care executive said "If you have a sticker on the box saying tv-out not supported then it will not support tv-out"
I was clueless why he made that statement, i even thought these nokia executives donot know anything and fools.
But it had a indirect meaning we also have 5800 headset without "tv-out not supported stickers" buy it if you are wise enough - which they did not mention.
That really proves nokia wants to push people buy the left overs which is fit for nothing.
This is really bad. I was really proud of having 5800 but I was made to buy a left over.
13k is a pretty very huge amount for me, Nokia playing with peoples in India is really bad.
samsung/LG/Sony ericssion & motorola please make some good phone at less price.
Iam selling my one month 5800- if anyone interested to buy 5800 without tv-out mail me at skkn(at)ymail(dot)com -Iam from chennai.

the shortcut's are not working. neither the contact button and the dialer is not working. anyone of you encounter this too?
I'm not able to perform a hard reset cause the dialer is not working. help me please!
I have all these while been Nokia supporter until I bought the Nokia 5800 without TV out function.
The problem is not that they take away the function, its with the way they do it secretly and does not alert buyers. If we were alerted earlier, we would have a choice to choose another unit with similar feature.
For all my future handsets, I will go with Samsung, Apple, Sony or other brands, even though they are slightly more expensive!!!
I would not want my next Nokia unit which says has WiFi, GPS, Camera funcion, when bought home has the function disabled.
On the TV-OUT function, its not about how good or how bad is the feature. Its about how UNETHICAL nokia is cheating on us.
What if one day Nokia takes away the WiFi feature , paste a sticker on the box saying this feature is not available. People who buys the units are not aware of this. Nokia does this quietly and doesn't inform people clearly.
After buyers got the unit home, we are not allowed to return the unit.
This is exactly what Nokia does with the TV out feature.
ccask, 31 Oct 2009Hi. does any dirt go inside the screen? am keen on buying this phone. and please let me know t... moreany by the way does the back cover rubber come off like most of the phone do... after all the heat and sweat?
Hi. does any dirt go inside the screen? am keen on buying this phone. and please let me know the price of this phone in kolkata. also what is included with the phone package
I just found out something while I was playing
with an iPhone with a capacitive screen, you can
not use the phone with capacitive screen in ONE
handed operation, not like the 5800XM. On capacitive
screen, you need one hand to hold the phone, and
the other hand to do the selection. On resistive
screen like 5800XM, you just use your thumbnail
to operate the phone in ONE hand. For that, in my
own experience, I think resistive screen is much
better choice for ONE handed operation...
