Is it safe to upgrade the phone to firmware v31? coz I read some comments saying that they have problems after upgrading.

Iits a great touch fone by nokia. when i buy it first it has the old version n some things were not working properly that time like front camera. but nokia gave us the oppurtunity to update your fone from internet. now my fone iz working properly. thanks to nokia. i like it 5800 xpressmusic.

jc-phils, 01 Nov 2009i had my 5800 since aug21 and im loving it everyday... currently im bored with it but it still... moreGet a new SIM card and your problem with "message symbol" on the corner will disappear... probably your SIM card is a bit old.. ain't it? give it a try!
Most users don't know but there are a lot of problems that can be solved changing the SIM card... because there are lot's of compatibility issues... cards have different "chip grids", differente machines manufacturing them, manufactured in different times, etc.. and mobiles itself are always coming, not compatible with 100% SIM cards on the market...
For users interested in free GPS in 5800 try to google "Ndrive" or "GarminXT" .. Ndrive the best choice without a doubt... Compliments to everyone!!

i had my 5800 since aug21 and im loving it everyday... currently im bored with it but it still rocks...
picture quality aint that good except on bright light!
bright light pix are THE BOMB!!
other than that, the phone is perfect! i was able to download A LOT OF GAMES and played with it flawlessly!!
i only have 2 problems on my phone but its bearable... ive never heard of a perfect high end phone anyway.
sometimes my phone hangs up when it sleeps for some time and ALARMS. I guess it gets confused since its LOCK while sleeping and you need to press something to turn off/snooze the alarm. Thats the only time my phone hangs up.
my 2nd problem is sometimes the "new message" icon doesnt get off even if there arent any new messages in my inbox... this problem only occurs when i have like 250 messages in my phone...
other than that... im very much SATISFIED!!!!

hi everyone... i am a new user of this 5800xm phone. just bought last oct.

-how can i know d version of my phone
-d manufaturing date
-and regarding about my wifi. i am already connected and d signal is full but whenever i will go to the website it keeps telling me "no gateway reply" what is the meaning of that and how can i fix that?

@Answer Me: i never have problem with scrambled display though my phone behaved strangly after updated firmware via ota (i overcomed it by hard reset without restore settings).
@anonymous asking video playback: there's a gap when you touch video file you you wanna play. Also when you wanna pause and then play again, video seems laggy for some seconds. I convert my video files to mp4 format.
@Rohan: i do multitasking (nimbuzz, snaptu, opera mini, gmail, gravity, and sometimes with music player) my phone works well.
