Good:
Its responsive, fast, good wifi, good browsing, good music and many apps are available. Quality is good. Screen is well protected. The price is right. Battery is OK. Plectrum is sooo handy.
Bad:
Screen dirt too visible, it has "Assisted GPS" and almost impossible to configure for standalone GPS.
The Ugly: Voice dialing totally sucks as with every Nokia since you cannot enter custom voice tags. When it gets it wrong it ends up dialing another contact (when it ended up dialing my ex boss I just wanted to smash it with a hammer!) F*** voice dialing.
Conclusion: Good phone, highly recommended unless you: use voice dialing, want unpaid GPS usage.

I have got 3 months gps license activated in my mobile....
What does this means.....Can i search places,roads,malls in offline mode also...or i need to go online......How can i come to know...what maps has been downloaded and what not...
Can someone tell me how to use maps effectively???

this phone has TV-out! it doesn't care if nokia has removed it. i didn't get it with TV out cable so i bought it separately and it works fine. i have v31.
The kinetic scrolling and new home screen WILL come soon and probably in next update.

Kadir , 30 Sep 2009Can anyone tell me wats the use of kinetic scrolling...i've used iphone but i dun noe its feat... more kinetic scrolling is when you scroll up or down a list and when you take your finger off the screen the list keeps going for a little bit longer as if you still were scrolling with your finger, the new update for the 5800 that just came out is the v31 and there's no kinetic scrolling yet,and the update as of now is not available for the NAM version, if you live outside the USA you might be able to get it, go here to see how you can update your phone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wef5kV9nCc

RashGurl, 30 Sep 2009Does anyone else face this problem? i have installed PC suite 7.1 from the nokia site but my p... moreafter installation of software ( nokia PC suit 7.1 ) & connecting your phone with the computer one should press the exit button before plugging off the connection cord. otherwise the software will not recognise the handset next time. this is the same as u do for the pen drives.

Does anyone else face this problem? i have installed PC suite 7.1 from the nokia site but my pc is not recognising the device in PC Suite mode...but its recognising the device in all other modes.what could be the reason?

deep space bar, 30 Sep 2009don't worry about that their is 86mb on stock if you factory reset the phone then you'll see ... moreI am worried cause I can't upgrate my device due to insufficient phone memory. Please let me know if I do the factory reset whether my phone memory will be increased and also pls inform should I loose all the contact numbers and messages.

While listening to music...in full volume sound is ok, but while volume is arou... moreand Pierre Philippe (actually for all 5800xm owners):
after connecting ur headset, choose "line out" and u'll experience higher sound output (this is especially true only if you enable "loudness" and for cleaner sound, turn on "stereo widening" as well) from d "now playing" music menu, tap "options" - "settings".
approximately, if u try those settings, u should have around 30-45% more volume
note: though "line out" can also be used in fm radio, activating d loudspeaker mode wyl d headset is connected will not work. d sound will not be routed to d loudspeakers. atm, dat's d only con i found out wen using "line out".
PS:
throwing away d inbox earphones (wait, better list it on e Bay) and buying a decent ear/headset rightaway and choosing "line out" will surely show nokia 5800xm's hidden music talent. budget not an issue, shure, etymotic. moderate budget, sennheiser. tight budget, A4Tech. cheers
