i feel cheated when nokia is selling this phone for 16k and launced 5230 which is same except wifi and 2mp cam at 10k.this phone does not deserve this price anymore.6k more for same phone just for wifi and 3.2mp cam.this is such a shame.

I listend to music 5 hours today and battery is still full. The thing i heard from you makes me think your battery is the problem so just go to some service that can check battery to check yours.

Anyone looking at buying this phone:
I own this phone since 3 months now...Except the camera which is really average (I am running the latest firmware) the phone is really good...worth every penny...the only phone that comes close and is tad better in certain respects, although not entirely, is the Samsung Jet...costs about 2000 more than the 5800 (depending on where you live it could be more or less)..so the choice is yours..lots of people talk about problems, problems, and more problems...nothing of that sort...they are one off cases...i owned the n73 before this..that was buggy to say the least...this works seamlessly for a touchscreen phone...and finally, the s60 5th edition is a potential blockbuster...just that its still in its nascent stages...give it some more time...all other phone manufacturers are going to jump on...WinMo?? Whats that? :)

i bought my unit last march.. 4months later the external speakers is not working so i went to nokia care center and guess what when they checked my phone it got worst as if they broke it no screen display and the menu keys arent working..so they told me to leave my phone so i did until now they still have the f#@king phone!!! damn nokia.

nixson, 25 Aug 2009Hiiiii guys pls temme the procedure for updating the mobile to new firmware detailly.THANKS IN... morehowzit man, just type *#0000# from the homescreen dialler, then go options and update. simple as that. it connects then starts the download and then installs and restarts. i did not back up my data and still had it so i dont know about that. you could backup if you really want to but its optional. shot

Well i bought 5800 XM 7 months ago on their first launch of this product. The way i expected this cell to be its no where near to it, now is causing all sort of problems, like display problem, hearing problem, and while listening to music the mobile stop working. And the Camera it really s**ks...really really s**ks. Technology is advance now a days and one cannot suck a worst camera on it, to be honest i used SE K750i its camera is much much better than 5800. all i have to say is that i m really Dissapointed in Nokia. I m never gonna Purchase any Mobile from Nokia.

Hey People. I bought my 5800 just two weeks back and i notice that when the screen is pressed it makes a very low creaking noise.... this happens especially on the left side of the screen. Has anyone experienced the same problem or is it just with mine ?? If its a problem with my phone..i can take it to the Nokia care people. Please respond. Your response is appreciated.....Thank You

And about GPS, what maps are installed... moreif you have lower version than 30 then camera is medium, but if you have v30 then camera is good. it has GPS with built-in GPS antenna. it has nokia maps preinstalled and you can download google maps for free and no trial.

What problems did you encounter on the 5800, is it true that it restarts on its own ... moreOnly bug that i have encounter is that accelometer was slow on response but with update 30. it was fixed and on the first units we got we had that infamous problem with the haering but whe shiped back teh whole series and they gived us fixed ones. If you lock your screen when inside a pocket there is no way taht you can turn it off. And bout hanging while in talk idk i have neva expirianced it. Hope that helps.

i have no screen problems, it won't hang or restars by itself. mine works very well and smooth. and 434 Mhz processor speed is true.

Now it's really making me mad. The new homescreen is there even in the low end touch screen like 5230 but my beloved 5800 doesn't have it for unknown reason. Both phone look exactly the same. I want that homescreen ASAP because i have spent 8000rs more for 5800 and i deserve that homescreen and kinetic scrolling in next firmware.
