i bought my 5800 in Bremen, Germany at PhoneHouse for 349 EUR, a reputable mobile phone, computers and accessories dealer in Europe just one day before its official release in Germany, January 15th. I was enthused about the device; but my first discovery was that the screen was not made of glass and thus was fragile; the speaker had a feedback problem which i had fixed for free at DUG, Nokia Service Center and guess what? 5 months later, i'm now in Nairobi and the screen's gone wack. I'm appalled as I am shocked by Nokia...so guyz plz watch out for all these Nokia experimentation with your 'heads' and 'pockets'!!!

hi frindz, i want to buy 5800 in malaysia. the problem tat confuses me is tat my home country is india and i want to buy in malaysia. will the quality be good and will the touch sensitivity be long for more than 3yrs...? and what is the current price in malaysia.. can any one help me....?

Kurt, 21 Aug 2009In reply to n0ussa..yap,there are lot of phone imitations, made in china phones are weak phone... moreactually there's no difference if it's made in china or finland because they're both original nokia.. furthermore those made in finland is originally made in china before being shipped by nokia finland.. as long as it's not a china phone/imitation phone there's not much difference..

Hi People. I recently purchased this phone. I just want to draw you attention to this issue. The phones' casing and the quality of manufacturing is pathetic. I can't believe , the phone actually makes a creaking noise when the touch screen is pressed at certain points. Do all of you guys feel the same ?

In reply to n0ussa..yap,there are lot of phone imitations, made in china phones are weak phones and some are imitations too, there are lot here in the philippines,never ever tried to buy one,.better choose made in finland because its the original..
i have a question to all nokia 5800 users..is there a way to copy an article on the web while browsing and paste it on a notepad?like what a typical computer does, copy-paste?if you can't, is there any application which can do this?thanks

hey all....do you know what the price of this phone in usa....in nokia website,ebay and amazon,it is for 300 $but in other website like alibaba.com,it is for 175$ only..is there a fake phone with the same name and shape?
also do you know if there is any difference between made in finland, and made in china nokia 5800 phone?

Reply to nep,i searched it online, and i saw its current price as 13.7kphp ,i think it still ranges from 13-14+kphp at any place here in the phil,!

i work in a phone shop and one thing that bothers me is the battery advertised on phones. it is never correct what is advertised. even on this site.

Has anyone noticed the massive battery drain after updating to v21 and how opera mini 4.2 crashes
v21 is good but since i have the NAM model and it's slow with updates here and we don't have FOTA set up and "IT IS FASTER 369mhz to 434mhz "
But now i hope on v31 screen transitions are cleaner and no more side bar scrolling and people that want multitouch on this device go buy one that has is cause it's useless inless it's in games nothing else

hi all 5800xm users, i have one question..please tell me how can i empty my phone memory c: under 'other files'.because when i check my phone memory under menu > options >memory details >phone memory..it is constantly filling in (other files) heading...i just want to ask where these 'other files' are located in the phone and how can i delete them??. please any one reply soon, thanks

Pif, 20 Aug 2009First of all depends on your need if you are a music fan (like myself) then go for 5800XM ... moreMusic goes for 5800, but N900's camera is an evolution over N97's camera (it has better video rec).

use store.ovi.com for free or paid app & games ! by the way this is the best phone ever, and try it for yourself instead of reading web posts! got it for 300euros in romania free of contract! very pleased!
