I am not sure what Nokia is thinking, the 5 series is suppose to be solid midrange devices but with these specs it can't compete with other midrange devices in the following areas. It does not support Bluetooth 5 and it lacks a Full HD screen. Even with all of these compromises it still cost $200. In comparison for $180 you can get a Redmi Note 5 with all those features. Better yet for $230 you can get a Samsung Galaxy A31 with all of these features and a Super Amoled display. I would argue that the Nokia 5.3 is at least $50 overpriced in comparison with what other brands offer. Also I would have positioned this phone as the Nokia 4.3, not a 5.3.
Low specs but i bought this phone for 100 euros, And for this price its Great phone. Better than my old iphone SE
Nokia Lover, 06 Jun 2020What is the material of frame ?Some sort of plastic alloy with aluminum particles or somethingin this lines.
Hilmawan, 04 Jun 2020Any phone will looks good enough if you don't compare it with other phones but if you compare ... moreYeah, because they can't fake the results, right? I mean it is not like you see they actually own and tested any of this... while Chinese comparison, is lame as lame it self. In Europe people actually receive money for their work, while the manufacturing might be in India and China, HMD head-Quarters, developers and so on, are in Europe. And they are not paid with 100 euros. The discussion could continue till hardware, batches used by Chinese companies and batches used by Nokia... well, there are a lot of things hidden under those smaller prices, something apparently, this "site" of yours who are "better", does not care to share, because well... they sellout-

Other phones with higher resolution, bigger size and more advanced image sensor will produce better result especially in challenging situations than the small image sensor in Nokia 5.3.
If you do some reasearch about Nokia phones you'll realize that most of their Android phones uses lower grade components than the competitions for example Nokia 5.3 still using gorilla glass 3, slow eMMC, small image sensor usually from Samsung (they are not even using top of the line image sensor), low resolution screen with poor calibration and slow response time.
This review is better than PhoneArena or most other sites because it shows you many important things from a smartphone that you don't see from other sites like network speed, gps, screen quality and temperature of the phone under load.
Great device for the price, great camera, 2 days battery life, and super design. It still feals like a NOKIA even though is plastic, it feals like aluminium.
The review from phonearena shows this is a very good phone for its price. The resolution is 720 though but you wouldn't even notice it. The main camera is only 13mp, but the pictures are great, bearing in mind that larger megapixel does not necessarily mean good camera

I bought this phone as spare phone for a while I was not expecting this performance for this price i was surprised it's really cool phone I'm playing pubg in this good performance and lag free entertainment battery life Easily going two days
Display also cool for the price thanks a lot Nokia giving good budget phone
James, 06 May 2020Please recommend a similar priced, better phone. I wanted to get the 5.3 but you seem to sugge... moreI don't think its horible phone. The 720p display is somewhat outdated. But nokia always put some good quality lcd panels. And also the 720p display will give best performance with Snapdragon 665. Just check Xiaomi miA3 which has same spec the performance is absolute beast it can give some premium midrange phones gaming performance. I don't know about camera so wait for review for camera. And 4000 mAh battery it will definitely get for 2days of battery life since Snapdragon 665 is very efficient. So if you are looking for camera performance then wait for review otherways go for it. You will get 2 years of software update. So this will easily last for 3 years.

I was looking to buy one for someone in the family, but did not found it, so i satteled for nokia 6.2, not a bad device at all. But this one would have been even better because of the "hugeness" of the screen.
I am currently using a Nokia 4.2. It serves me well and I like for its size. Could your forthcoming coming Nokia 5.3 come in a similar "small" size. The size is very pocket friendly. Literally.
Coming from Nokia 6 used 3 years. Now I am using this phone for 2,5 weeks. Pros: battery, camera, screen, updates.
Cons: size and no 4K video
My advice: Yes I do recommend this phone it's a great buy which you will not regret, if you buy this phone you can go forward with it for at least 3 years which is perfect!
Asghar, 21 May 2020NO ZEISS optics crap thing to buy...I agree having Zeiss lense is an added advantage for photography but sorry Nokia Camera App is too poor for the support. Unless they develop the software there is no point in having a branded hardware.
