I want to use my 6030 as a modem for network connection. Can anyone tell me where should i get modem drivers fopr Nokia 6030?
I think this's a nice 1. Just a bit disappointed becuz it has no connectivity but GPRS.
Sharon, you can adjust the earpiece volume during a call using the left/right navigation keys. I actually found out about it by searching this "forum" a few days ago. It doesn't appear to be mentioned in the manual at all. I found that the setting is kept even after switching off the phone, thankfully.
digiboy, thanks for your suggestions re the backlight issue. So far I've just used the navigation keys, but it hasn't eliminated the annoyance, and several times the input has done stuff I didn't want.
How do I change the volume for the handset, not the ringing but for the volume of the actual call?
I like my N 6030 verymuch. And i have data cable and CD also But I can't use my datacable. Please, sand me the instruction how to use it. Thanks

please let me know if i can use nokia6030 to connect to internet by connecting my cellphone to my laptop. if i can then please let me know the requirements at the earliest
Terry, I think the safest button to press to bring the backlight back on is the master on-off button on top of the handset. Gently tapping this button seems to only call up the switch off/profile menu if the display is already in standby. Failing that, use the navigation Left or Right keys - these seem to have no effect in many screen modes.
Terry, I understand your point. Unfortunately, I have no practical suggestion. The only way I know to keep the backlight on without activity is while charging - check Settings - Enhancement Settings - Charger - Lights - On.
this phone is really awesome . gr8 look ,soft keypad,65k display excellent speakers, long lasting battery .in short its complete worth of ur money moreover i hv got its usb cable but not tried yet
my reply 2 those r not satisfied with d unavailability of infrared or enough memory space :u cant get everything in Rs5000/-
digiboy, thanks for the response, but that sets the length of idle time before the screen saver kicks in (at the home screen at least - it isn't activated at all if you're in a menu).
Basicaly, the backlight switches off after about 14 seconds of no input, and you can barely see anything in the screen. If you press a button, it will not only reactivate the backlight, but send the key's input to whatever is on the screen that you can't see! I can try to "guess" what button will be safest based on my recollection of what I was doing last, but it's annoying having to pause and guess instead of just being able to switch on the backlight so I can see exactly what mode the phone is in _before_ I send any input.
Terry, you can set how long the backlight stays on after your last keypress under Settings - Display Settings - Screensaver - Timeout.
i have a nokia 6030 i am satisfied with its back up,performance but the only disadvantage is it doesnot have infrared port, can anybody mail me regarding how i can get nokia pcsuit5.0 for my cell free of cost
Choice of ring tones is awfal. Why can't I just have a regular ring ring style tone and not the electronic stuff that it comes with.
How do you activate the backlight on this phone without sending any input? When the backlight switches itself off after about 10 seconds of no input, it's difficult to see what's on the screen. Pressing any button will switch it back on. However, it also sends that key's input, which is annoying when you can't really see what's on the screen, as it might activate/change/exit something you didn't want to.
check yhis site to see that it has a plug and
I was using nokia 3120 and was happy with it.Now i have 6030. All it has is radio and 65k colours extra. The major draw back is the un availablity of data cable. I dont agree that the 4 pin usb given is for software upgrade because all the nokia phones have a slot under the battery for software upgrade and reset. I saw a message in nokia site that it is a plug and play connecter for which the data cable will be availabe.. lets see.......
