Tried to connect with my friend's Nokia 6260 through 'InfraRed' but it fails everytime. Any idea why it doesn't work?

To MAUREEN:
You need the PC Suite to tranfer files to 6100.You cant tranfer them directly.

Yes dear it works in Pakistan as I m using it in Karachi.
Some1 asked here abt Infra wid other cells. So dear it can transfer Contacts, Schedule, Todo to other compatible cells through Infra. But it can transfer all the things to and from Desktop PC through Infra.

Have been trying to get mms set up on my phone but no joy. would anyone know how to set this up? also does anyone where the infrared port is and how to activate it, i can get it up, but when i try to transfer something, it just fails. Thanx

Nokia should introduce Nokia 6100i version....with camera,video,65K TFT screen,mp3,MMC card,EDGE etc....It would be great!!!

I think that nokia 6100 is a very good phone and it's colours are very cute and it is small but a bad point of this phone is; it hasn't camera photo,flash and video

Bought the 6100 so I could stay in contact with the family when I was sent over to the states.
Absolutely excellent phone, good battery life, mine lasts about a week. I use the IR port a lot and it works with both my laptop (Toshiba) and my desktop (USB IR port) . The IR port is on the RH side of the phone level with the screen rather than the top or LH side as is more 'normal'?

I've bought this cell & I've found it a great cell indeed in this price. I only wanted a Notes software to store some information. So, I installed MobiWord and MicroCalc(Excel) softwares for this purpose. In MicroCalc, I even can put some small formulas. Its really great to have such cute lil Cell.

to my dear friends who giving negative opinions for nokia 6100, first the problems actually because you guys are buying AP(second hand or recon) instead of buying Zitron(original)products.If you guys compare the recons and the originals its total 50% different(display/batery/keypad).but nokia 6100 stop production few years a go.. so we will miss the slimest phone nokia ever built for now...

i think this 6100 is the best mobile in all nokia products.i thunk soooo..........

I used it for almost 2 years, so far so good, by the time i bought its cost RM1500, damm expensive but now only RM 500.
It is already outdated because only 4 polyphonic tones , low memory space.
wat the best is its light weight and not easily broken even i dropped for n-times already.
