Hi Johnny 1989,
Cant really hear the person I talk to on the other line, really. I'm always out and I get calls all the time so the ear volume is really important to me. This phone is not GPRS or WAP capable. And for those who cant change from list menu to grid menu, just go to menu, go to settings, go to display settings, then look for menu view. Press select and you would be able to choose from list to grid menu. Have fun! :)
A pity I was told that Nokia has no intention to sell anymore white sets for 6101 at the moment in Singapore and we just have to be contented with the black ones. Though a few white sets have been seen around the shops (those without phone plans) but they are really rare. If you are lucky, you may be able to get one. I just ordered myself a black one at quite a good price, though I really love the white one actually. Well, a compromise of colour for price. I can't complain much...
I noticed this too it's a total bugger to listen to someone sometimes.
However Mobile Choice (A Mobile phone magazine here in the UK) gave it 4 out of 5 so it can't be that bad.
Still waiting for Picture message / GPRS settings but have got handset manager software so can download pictures to PC :^D
People, listen. No matter how loud you adjust the ear volume, you can't hear the person you are talking to on the other end. Its so totally frustrating.
What's with the antenna? All nokia phone have no antenna except for this one. And as if they haven't learned, the soon to be released 6060, which is also a clampshell type phone, also have an antenna. And worse, if you don't want to answer a incoming call, you still have to open the phone and quickly press the red button in order to reject the call otherwise the phone will connect automatically. For Samsung phone, you just press the volume button found on the side of the phone if you want to reject a call which is more convenient. This phone is not selling well here in the Philippine. it's big compared to other clamp type phone namely samsung. Nokia still has a long way to go when it comes to clampshell phone. Better go back to the drwaing board.
It's tri-band but sadly no bluetooth, hence the cheap price on this model. Nice model, prolly gonna get it for my mum =)
yes it's quite nice clamshell phone from nokia and i am thinking may be to buy this phone . but one question . that about themes . i am asking because now a have set630 and for this phone are a lot of free very nice themes, also you can create your own theme and so on. that about this nokia themes. it is possible to change themes and download free from somewhere like in set630, o just only change menu colour and thats all ???
I really love this handset. It's so compact, I've been able to squeeze it into alot of tight places.
hcs, yes you can!
my outer screen went blank just after a few hours!!!!!!!! then it showed some black with coloured stripes, and then it went back normal.
what do to about this??? should i be afraid? will this pass and can be due to the lack of battery? (i didn't charge it, just put it on and then waited for the battery to drop to fully recharge). or go back to the store? plz help me out!!!!
Can anyone help out ?
Can you use the voice recorder to record your own voice and use it as a ringtone?
Just like the way that can be done with nokia 6170 and 7270.
To those who replied, thanks got the grid view & also got my voicemail working.
As for GPRS thanks for the link I will try that out tonight when i get home
to 'Swedish owner' you said its easy putting pics etc on the computer
how do you do it? do you use the connecting cable? or something else?
well l got my new nokia 6101 on sat and l reckon its good but theres a few features im disappointed with.the video recorder is bad as well as the mini screen on front but besides from that then its perfect.
I have a black 6101 and I adore it! It´s beautyful! The camera was better than I hoped and the radio is fine! About the memory, its not so interesting when it´s so easy to connect to a computer and download pics etc.
"Johnny 1989" you're searching too far for the "Grid/list"-option...
From the standby screen, press "Menu".
When you see the list of menu, press the top-left key. In there you can change the list/grid view.
to 'Johnny 1989' on the nokia australia website it tells you how to get the GPRS working:
I have got the phone & I am really pleased with it however I have a few probs with it:
*Mark says that you can change the menu to grid settings however on mine it goes the following:
Menu>setting>main display> and I can select from : wallpaper, screensaver, power saver, colour schemes, idle state font colour, operator logo. But no mention of menu view
* I cant seem to get my GPRS to work it says I need to subscribe to it but how?
