got some news for everyone, rang up liverpool O2 stores and they told me that Nokia has recalled all 6111 phones back because of a fault. When the sim card is entered or a number is entered the phone 'dies' on them! So they have to send theres all back and wait till the problem is sorted to return the phones. Sounds to me folks like theres a bad batch going around!
Could anyone let us download somewhere an exemple of the video taken with the phone ?
i am VERY impressed with the camera quality, 1 MP sounds low but the outcome of pictures are AMAZING! i am not worried about the memory because every few days i put all my pictures on the computer via USB then when they are on i delete them off my phone, if i wanted it back on the phone then easily i would get it off the comouter!
Here in the Netherlands it`s costs around 290 euro on the internet. So I think that will be the same for the rest of Europe.
I would like to ask if anyone knows the price for this phone in europe. Some say it's around 400 euros, other say that it's around 200.
Someone at futuregsm.nl told me that they got there first shipment last week and the next shipment this week. He first send the phones to the persons that made the reservation at first. So in the Netherlands there are also a few persons very happy with there new phones, and that before christmas.
Hi just to let you know you can get the Nokia 6111 from lxdirect.com for £164.99
No memory card ??? Suc*s...
More than 400$ for NO MEMORY card ???
MadMuggle: Maybe your just not looking in the right places, there have been other posts from Australian's in Melbourne saying they got it. I just checked and most of the stores in town have the 6111, and there are plenty to be had off eBay. If I can get one in Tasmania then you can get one in Melbourne. Don't ask Optus, Telstra or other service providers when and where to get one, buy one outright from somewhere and get it now.
Ben, maybe you have it down in Tasmania, but I can tell you that I (from Melbourne) HAVEN'T been able to get hold of it. Just becdause you have it doesn't mean that other Australians have been able to get hold of it too. So enough of the "sick of hearing it" (as if we're lying or something!).
Both Optus and Telstra so far haven't been able to help me. Nor Nokia Australia themselves. I don't know why you'd have it down in Tasmania when the mainland can't get it. That's extremely odd.
One thing that I have speed read and I think hasnt been answered is:
Yes you can answer the phone without sliding it open, you can either use the green key shut, or sliding it open is auto answer.
I still havent got mine yet, although I checked with the company and they have said I should get it Tuesday or Wednesday.
I found this information on the nokia interactive demo
To Ben: Thanks!
I'hope to have mine 6111 in silver soon. It's expected in January 2006 in Holland.
ok Alina, so i fiddled around with the alarm a bit; set it, turned the phone off with it set, had the alarm go off when it was on, had the alarm go off with the phone off. No problems to report here. Sounds like either a one off error in the device or a Nokia basher. You cant tell me that at least some if not all corporations dont pay people to give good reviews of their own products and bad reviews of competing corporations.
Alina: I haven't set the alarm because i have had no need to, i will do it later. The speakerphone quality is decent, good quality if not turned up full but depends on song. On some ring tones or mp3's it is a little quiet but i found that it was more than loud enough for me. I think the loudspeaker is more than sufficient, much better than my old sony ericsson.I'll get back to you on the alarm issue.
Cruz: I'v found the inbound quite loud enough for me, although my hearing must be alot better than other people's because i found both the loudspeaker and ordinary speaker loud enough
Oepz, this is the correct URL:
I've heard that the inbound calling volume, is not loud. It's also mentioned in this review here: http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_6111-review-61.php.
It's written that in a noisy street you have to press the phone really close to your ear.
Anyone else has got the same problem?
Ben, have u set the alarm yet? Bcoz i heard that in some cases after setting the alarm the phone just won't switch on again.
And are the speakerphone and the loud speaker as poor as they say in the review (they say they should be louder)?
If u find any other flaws please do tell us.
Sandra: it does have photocall but the picture is small. You can do ANYTHING with the phone when it is closed other than type.
Wolvesfanette: The pics of the 6111 with the "cracked ribbon" dont look believable to me. First off all zebra cables dont crack, they're highly flexible. Second of all that "crack" looks alot like a cut to me, whereas spring damage would look more like chaffing, and the rods are incapable of anything like this. Third of all, if there is one spring on each side why is there a "crack" on one side yet the other side is COMPLETELY undamaged? And last but not least why has NO-ONE else had this problem? many people have had this phone for much longer than 2 weeks.
Mann: the 1 2 and 3 keys are far enough away from the slide that its not hard to press the keys.
Tina: 1mp pics on my 6111 average about 160kb in size.
