HMD Nokia Android Rumors

UPDATE: According to Juho Sarvikas, HMD Global's Chief Product Officer, the mention of Nokia 6.1 Plus was nothing but a typo, which will be rectified. In fact, the ARCore documentation was supposed to refer to the Nokia 6.1 (sans Plus), which is already official.

Should be 6.1. Typo, will fix

Original story follows below.

HMD is working on a new variant of its Nokia 6.1 smartphone, as the 'Nokia 6.1 Plus' moniker has been spotted on Google's developer website. The phone is now listed in the HMD section of the ARCore-supported devices' list.

Nothing is known about the device at the moment - in fact, this is probably the first time we're hearing about the Nokia 6.1 Plus. However, we can make some educated guesses.

The Plus in the name could mean the device would be a beefed up version of the existing Nokia 6.1. And given that the Nokia 5.1 Plus has been in news lately (with indications that it could be launched as the Nokia X5 in China), it won't be a stretch to say the Nokia 6.1 Plus could end up being the international variant of the notch-totting Nokia X6.

Of course, everything is up in the air at the moment, but we'll surely let you know when more info related to the Nokia 6.1 Plus surfaces. Meanwhile, HMD has confirmed that the Nokia 8 will also be getting the ARCore support soon.

Stock rom lacks features. Most new android features are usually copied from previous non stock android roms or from apple.

Yup. Custom ROMS have more features that even Google has to put it on latest versions so late!
