the gps system is free only upto 6 month from purchase.
Apparently everytime you update the maps you automatically get another 180 days free subscription.
one of the best phone in nokia
hi guys bought this phone and using it from last 5 days. regarding gps we get along a 6month navigation license free but you need wap or gprs for voice assist and to download the 6 month navigation license on your phone.battery life is quite decent last upto 2.5 days. camera clearity is amazing but flash is not quite powerful in dark. video recording could have been better.the panel is prone to fingerprint and scratches.speakers are loud and mp3 playback is also quite impressive. the plastic keys are bit annoying but one would get used to it.worth a buy for navigation lovers.cheerss
you can use free gps software garmin
Is GPS in Nokia 6110 Navigator and 6210 Navigator open for life time ?
Anonymous, 03 Oct 2008hey jasmine, if this phone is anything like the 6110, which i think it is =P you probably have... moreMy wife and I own 6110 Navigators. There is an option to turn off Web-based navigation assist, and both of us were able to find and enable this option without looking in the user's guide. I'm sure the 6210 has a similar menu option. In the 6110 Navigator, it's inside the Nokia Navigator application under Settings > Extras > Network Connection > Do Not Allow.

i understand that the talking navigation is a subscription service. my question is, is the walking compass and the maps free to look at and determine destination and how to get there without the voice?
I have heard from serveral people, including nokia that this phone was supposed to be a TRUE FREE NAVIGATOR like the 6110, upon speaking to customers, and again speaking with nokia i have heard that it is a subscription service ONLY? does anyone know for sure?
