      Hi guys,
My last findings about the bluetooth connection with this, otherwise perfect phone- as I may say as Nokia fan :-), is that BT connection is unstable and that it is not the matter of the software version but the built-in processor. However. Apparently it is not faulty in all gadgets, so buying the phone is like a Russian rullet. Many people never notice cause they never use BT, but those who do, post some angry letters to forums. Only if you are some VIP person or know someone.. they might take your phone for servicing, but in a way that they leave just the shell of it, meaning exchange BT module and stuff. Upgrading of software is of no use. Lucky you whose phones are working.

ha, ha. Whatever version of BT, it’s not working in 6230 with vs 4.44. Have you tried downloading mp3 or something that big ?
      Friedbrains –
You're really having no problems with this?

Great phone, has everything. Here in Thailand you get it now for only 270 Euros. A real bargain, beats every other phone, really...

Can anyone plz tell me that does Nokia 6230 support the function whereby picture of contact is displayed if it is alrady stored in the phonebook when a call is received .I believe this function is present in Motorola E398.Does N6230 support an advanced phonebook so that picture of contact is displayed when receiving a call from that contact.Plz help...

hi i am 6600 user and my friend is using 6230
the difference between 6600 and 6230 is:
6600 has bigger and brighter screen compare to 6230
6600 and 6230 has the same VGA camera but 6230 has better camera quality than 6600 (viewing image in computer)
6600 video is SUCK and 6230 has better 3GP video quality.
the 6230 is handly than 6600
the 6600 has os symbian operating system serious 60 but 6230 is only serious 40
the 6230 is faster than 6600 in opening an application and easy to use compare to 6600
6600 is SUCK mono speaker 6230 has STEREO speaker
                    6230 has better bluetooth device
                    6230 has radio

my conclusion is 6600 and 7610 is useless phone compare to 6230
ALthought they can install additional SYS to their phone but the more SYS you install the more problem you will encounter and the system will became slower because of insufficient RAM 6600 only got 10.46MB ram and the processer is too slow

so to those who are still confuse wanna buy 6600 or 6230 i suggest to buy this phone if you wanna buy OS symbian operating phone you better buy PDA not 6600 the
6600 speaker is crap sometimes you cant even hear the sound while you are in noisy place 6230 has 6X times louder and clearer than 6600
the 6230 can use 44100HZ frequency digital sound but 6600 onlly can use 16000HZ so you can imagine how worse the 6600 speaker are ...

and dont forget, 7610 sound is MONO, while 6230 sound is FULL STEREO and RS-MMC is more expensive and difficult to find as well

This is the kind of phone that you can keep for a long period of time... It's very easy to use. The compact design is also a plus factor for me even though it will sacrifice the screen size (heck, i don't need a television in my phone so the screen size will suffice)

I own both 6230 and 7610 (6230 is my favorite...) Series 40 (6820, 6230) phones have better bluetooth interface since you can actually access all of the folders in your gallery (even the MMC). With the series 60 phones, you are only limited to acces the inbox folder (this will be remedied by installing the PC suite)

The biggest difference though between 6230 and 7610 would be the screen quality. The color of 7610 is much finer and clearer compared to the 6230 (but again, i don't need a television). The symbian OS would also be a major difference because you may be able to install programs in your phones. But there are times that my 7610 crashes and restarts all by itself(esp. when viewing pictures and videos). So far my 6230 is more stable (and faster too) than my 7610

6230 manages to combine a perfect mix of fun and performance in a nifty little package...

                                lady,

you heard WRONG, 6230's BT is one of the most stable as per other nokia...

                                xpert,

i woudnt use 64bps if i were you, unless it is just for ringtone... hard to tell which one is better, but AAC is definitely smaller file size...

about SE phones being able to browse the files of 6230 and other phones, i heard that sooo many times being claimed, but i have yet to meet someone who can tell me how to do it, or give some proof that it actually happened... if you know, tell me where i can pm you... btw, just today i bluejacked a p900, and i even sent him/her a gif file.... mwhahaha

Are you sure about the 4.44 version BT?
As I know, V2.0 is about to be release ONLY next year... :o)

Anyway, i do not face the problem you mentioned... good luck with your N6230

                                        friedbrains,

I just realise recently that SE can browse other phone's folder through Bluetooth. but N6230 does not have this capability. Do you know if there could be any Java application that can install in N6230 to do so?

                                        Thanx
