To all Nokia 6230 fans and who are still having several doubts.
This is the best phone forever. I don't think nokia people will make a better phone like this.

Responding time - No phone in the market match to this phone.
Doubts: This phone will work normally without any problem up to 2GB memory card. I am going to test it with 4gb...!
But memory card not available in chennai. Only SD cards and Mini SD and micro SD cards. waiting for a reasonable MMC.
The firmware should be upgraded to at least V.5.24. The latest version is V.5.50 which I am using.
You can upgrade the firm ware with minimum cost with local service people in half an hours time.

I have said over and over that I had a 1GB using in my 6230. Mine has firmware revision 5.24. The higher the firmware, the better the support for higher capacity cards.
Which firmware does your phone have ? You can check my keying *#0000# in standby mode.

to the guys who says that this phone supports 1gb card pr 2gb card:
the phone only supports 512 mb I've tryed with 1gb but it doesn't work

Sorry to tell you the next but I think you´ll need to take your 6230 to a Nokia care center to check it.
That´s because I had this phone and I never had that problem. The menu doesn´t have an option to lock the card readr with a password. The only available option is to put a password on the memory card to avoid the use of that mmc on other phones.

hi all, i have a prob wid my 6230. the memory card reader got locked by itself somehow and i can't seem to unlock it. i tried inserting other memory cards, but its the same problem. the memory card is lock and requires password. so i guess the problem lies in the memory card reader. can anyone help with a solution??

for eg.to check the IMEI no of a handphone, u need to press #06#.. to check the version of the handphone , u need to press #0000#... but how do we recover the numbers that have been dialled from the phone itself? is there any way? for sony ericsson phone, u just press #12 and it will show a list of numbers you have called from the handphone...so please i really need help..

What's the largest capacity memory card your phone supports ?
Mine works with 1GB perfectly and overall this phone is said to support up to 2GB.

really, i cried a lot because it was stolen from me in someway, till now i spent over a year and still dont know what to buy, cuz this one was awesome, i wish if i can have another one but there are not any new of it. great sound quality, never heared an out speakers for music like this one, if u can have it, do not hesitate. u wont regret.

If 3120 classic was launched a month ago (being the original 3120 a newer model than the 6230) why not a 6230 classic??

It would be great if the 6230 classic project could be done. I love the specifications that OJ wants in this model.
Of course it needs to be like the original 6230: a top class model.
I´m so sure that Nokia will launch a model with that name. It´s a must. It´s a legendary model. One of the most sold phones of 2004 and 2005 so for Nokia this is one of their most important models.
I hope all our wishes came true very soon because It´s a must to me to have a model like this (I owned a 6230, my mom has a 6230i, my girlfriend a 6300 and this wolud be perfect for that collection). I´m crossing my fingers ;)
Even if actually I´m using an S60 device (5700) I would think on this when comes out.
