Right now,im using my nokia 6230,does anyone know if whats the maximum memory of a memory card can the 6230 haldle?pls reply to my mobile number:0921717037
I have said it over and over, this is the BEST Nokia ever !!!
I had this phone in the not so distant past (Just over the 2 year mark) and every phone I've had since then, I always compare it to my trusty 6230. Never had any problems with the 6230, and heck, I would still recommend it for people who want a phone that does enough as a phone, but aren't too fussed with all the new bells and whistle (MPx Camera, MP3 Player - even thou this has one, etc etc)
hi, I have a question about my nokia 6230 with firmware v5.35. When I turn it on, the classic nokia animation with shaking hands doesn`t appear. The phone works very well, but I need to know, can I put this animation when I turn on my phone? or it doesn`t appear in any 6230?
to LUKE: sounds like your phone needs flashing. Go to your nearest Nokia Center or check anyone that flash phones.
to ANDREI: You can check your phone version by keying *#0000# in standby mode.
to ERPAS: The 6230 seems to handle any bitrate based on my experience. I have played MP3s with bitrate ranging from 128kbps to 320kbps. The average MP3 file is 128kbps (kbps means 'kilobit per second').
Once the songs plays well in the Music Player or Media Player (Media Player is going to the folder & opening the audio file), I have NEVER had a problem using that MP3 as a ringtone.
You DON'T need to cut down your MP3s for the phone to play them or NOT hang while playing them. The 6230 plays large files well, whether audio or video. Once I had a 12MB MP3 file on my phone and it NEVER FROZE, STAGGERED or refused to play. In fact, the phone NEVER restarted or behaved funny whatsoever. Don't be afraid to put big files on your phone, it can manange them!
Sometimes the phone hangs when trying to play certain audio or video files. Whenever that happens, I suspect that the phone detects an error while playing the file and restarts itself to fix the error OR it's just a glitch in the software. Either way it doesn't bother me.
Other than that, the hanging you experience could be a bad bluetooth connection - Try deleting the paired connection and pair them again...or your phone may have what is known as the 'Bluetooth Bug' - Check your firmware by pressing *#0000# in standby mode, if it's lower than 5.24 then you may have the bug. It is said that v5.24 fixed the bluetooth bug and many other problems too.
Personally, I think 5.24 was the best firmware release so if you don't have it go for it by visiting a Nokia dealer or anybody who flashes cell phones. Don't hesitate to ask me anything.
hi, my phone just comes on, the screen lights up, nothing comes up on the screen. Is this repairable and has anyone else had this problem with this phone?
hello. can someone help me please. why does my phone hangs when i transfer mp3s (through bluetooth) from my computer. i shortened the mp3 and it transfered but when im trying to use it as ringtone, my phone went off then on again. what bitrate or hz..etc...should my mp3 be so i can use it. by the, it plays well when i open it, but cant use it as ringtone....
My 6230 is perfect for me. The version on my phone is 5.50. The response is fast , never hang on me and it takes in 1gb card flawlessly. Although the camera is only a VGA - it is fine with me. The loud speaker is really loud but I do not find it that clear.
Here is the answers for some of the queries.
Nokia 6230 can adopt the memory card available in the market at present. That is 1GB is working fine. provided you have to upgrade to SW Version atleast 5.35.
You can upgrade only from the known service people or with nokia service center. But they charge atlest 3 times more from the privete service people. You have to search for them.
Media equlizer is working for MP3 only when you are playing through stereo head set. You can feel the difference between Normal and Jazz by seting it.
If you upgraded to new SW version then the option of indivdual ring tones from the phone contact is not available.
Phone contacts can be taken back up to PC using nokia pc siute and compatible infrared software.
Not only contacts, you can take back up of your entire phone settings.
