the file u have transferred might be a read only file..Try to move the file back on to the MMC again..& if u r successful i at this & then have problem deleting it from the MMC, then try formatting the MMC..
But if u cant even move the file from the phone memory, than i guess u have no other option but to Flash the Firmware again..which can be done at a Nokia care centre..ALL The Best!
I bought this phone about a month ago and so far i'm a little unhappy! It's a great phone, it has a lot of features but it has some bugs! The first thing i noticed is that the pictures taken with this phone aren't very colorfull compared to the SE k700i or even k500i! The second thing i noticed is that the media equalizer doesn't work and the last thing and more important is the battery life which is very poor! I'm already thinking of buying a Li-Po! Also it has other smaller bugs like once i transfered via infrared to the PC about 1 hour and then i wanted to watch a video on the phone and it crashed and reopened!Strange...! I searched a lot for a phone that has all the things I wanted and I found it! Anyway the 6230i is out so i saw it, it has a great camera, way better than the 6230,bigger display but a menu that is too animated!!! SE k750 is better than both of them...i don't know the price yet...
hi every1.got some problems.i inserted a mmc of a siemens in the 6230.i transferd some music on the phone memory.now i cant erase it.anmd it takes up much space (5.9mb).any1 plsssssssssssssssssssssssss help,i'm stuck with it
hey can anyone tell me how many kbs this phone can download form wap,as in maximum size of videos, music videos etc.....please let me know, anyone,as i am planning on buying this phone very soon. thank you
i just got a 6230 in exchange for my old motorola T720i which i had had in repair (for the fourth time!) for about a year :-(, meaning it was impossible to repair. i'm really scared about having trouble with this one too but i think it's great for all the features especially the mp3 player as an ipod for instance in much more expensive and the 6230 can successfully replace it :-). i still don't know how to use it properly and the only problem seems to be the low memory included. can i use a normal memory card like the ones for digital cameras to store music&stuff or does it need a smaller special card? and also do i need a usb cable to download music from the computer or can it be done with infrared?
Well i got the answer to my question on here a few days ago from someone else.
So for anyone else who is wondering the same thing, you can use MP3 sounds for ringtones AND text alerts, just some useless info, lol.
I bought the phone last night online so i hope i dont have the same probs as you kirsty, lol.
I was deciding between this or the Samsung E720 but thats a bit too expensive for me at the moment.
hey, i got a nokia 6230 in january and i have had it to the shop 3 time since and the same problems i am having with the fone 4 other people i know is haveing the same proplem, It keeps turning it's self on and off, it keeps saying insert sim or sim not redchestered when its in and redgestered, also when you turn it off we have to wait about 5-10 minutes to turn it back on, so personly i wudnt tell any one to get the NOKIA 6230 OR THE NOKIA 6230i
hey thx a lot 4 the advice..i was finally able 2 get the cover off n clean my phone thx to u.ur an angel!thx again
Hey Yunus, don't worry about breaking the cover. The original cover is really strong. Just remember to take off the rear cover BEFORE the front cover.
To remove the rear cover, grasp the phone on your palm with the rear side facing you. Make sure that none of your finger is touching the rear panel. Then just press the button on the rear and push upwards simultenuously.
For the front cover, slit you nail at the ONE side of the cover from the top. Move your nail to the bottom... somwhere aligned at keypad number 1 and 3, there are the locking mechanism. Just force your nail to go thru that part. Repeat the same for the other side. And you'll have a naked 6230.
hello nokiamia my friend,so,it depends if i will buy a good brand of mmc card.and will not buy those cheap ones huh?well,im would like to request it from my sis..oh well,i think its up to her to get me at least a 256mb mmc card in the states.i think they have good quality mmc card there.thanks again for ur help.till then..-andy
why do i keep saying things twice when i'm on the phone oh yeh i forgot i'm talking on a 6230 that would explain it then lol echoing piece of garbage phone!
thx pal.but how do u remove it?im afraid i break something or damage the phone.do u remove it like a 3310(very simple) or its like a 6600?
ya the panel is changeable, so u can remove both rear & front covers & clean the dust.
& as far as 512 mb mmc is concerned, i just gave my 256 mb card for a new 512, although i was a bit afraid but the 512 card i8s working rally fine, i 'v stored almost 110 mp3 tracks in it. the only problem that i had is that it does not shows the proper memory allocation, i mean on my phone the card size is shown as 80 mb but i can use 489 mb of memory space on my mmc. so there's no problem.
Another thing as i have 110 mp3 tracks, so whenever i switch on my phone on turn on the 'Music Player' it takes almost 30 secs to read all the tracks.
But i m just satisfied.!!!!
Can the cover be opened up so the dust can be easily cleaned off from the screen????any1 reply please.thx
hello everyone.i just got my 6230.just too great.its quite better than the sontericsson k700i!
andy, if you have enough $$$, get the 512Mb card. Trust me. Just make sure it's a good memory card. Just like my previous post - i have personal experience that a cheap 256Mb gave a very, very bad performance - nothing to do with the phone, but my good 512Mb card gave lightning quick responses. Buy yourself a card-reader too, if you're a music lover or multimedia junkie, you'll not regret it.
hi andy ;)
have a look here:
but i use 256mb(extereme)and very fine and work perfect
My phone uses 512Mb RS MMC (with adapter, of course) from Apacer. It works fine. I had no problems at all. Then again, my phone is running on firmware ver 5.35.
My wife's phone is running on 256Mb MMC - a cheap brand - so, there's a noticeable lag whenever the card is assessed.
So, in conclusion. Yes, 512 is supported. And the performance really depends on the quality of the card. Not so much on the phone.
So, my take is - get a good brand of memory card. Don't buy the cheap ones (like I did for my wife)...
