I think this phone is way past its sell by date, quite dated now having been out over a year. The general layout of the phone is quite neat and easy to use, however, but the middle soft key can be slightly annoying and innacurate at times. The screen isn't too great when taking a picture although its adequate. Overall features, its got the usual suspects, but I wouldnt waste my money on it and get something a little more up to date.
well to all 6230 users dont take it personal..But i feel that for anyone who is thinkin of buyin a new 6230 now, I think it is too late..they should have done that at 6 months back..
For now i think a more logical solution would be somewhere on the likes of Nokia 6230i,3230 or 6681..If u are crazy about Sony Ericsson, than a K750 or W800...But remember Nokias are by far more userfriendly..
need to change my phone, use to have K700.
It's worth to change with this NOkia6230.
Pls try to post your opinions only who own this phone.
Bought it some weeks ago, like everything with the phone so far.
But one little thing is very annoying, after you've changed the contrast of a picture, you just can't save the changes to the picture. It might be that it's the same on every phone (since no one else has said anything about this problem). But damn, why even include that "Set Contrast" feauture, if the only thing you can do is watch the picture after you've set the contrast? I don't get it. At least its annoying as hell, since I hate the normal contrast of the images I take. You should be able to save the picture, makes no sense to me otherwise.
So please, could any of you people that own other Nokia camera phones tell me if it's the same with your phones? So I'd know if I should change to some other model, or just live with this problem. Thanks.
Hi, I want to buy one of this nokia, but first I need to know if it has portuguese language... Can someone that bought it answer this?

am currently running version 05.24 on my mobile, not having any problems, shud i upgrade? does it make much a difference?
one other question, reviews said that music player cant read files in folders, but mine does, i transfered the files to my mobile using a bluetooth stick then copied them to mmc... will it work with a bigger card and a card reader ( read in folders ), and does it have to do with the version am running?thx.... ;)

BAD BAD SCREEN!
for the moment i have a SE K700i,and wanted to switch to Nokia 6230,but today i just played with one and the screen is very very bad, unlike my K7,whoose screen is marvelous!
I guess i'll stay with K7,for the moment.
Nokia shold think at the screen, because it's a important standard when we buy a mobile phone.
Just upgraded to firmware 5.35. Great enhancements! Recommended!
It brightens the screen when there's an 'incoming' - so, dont worry about filing your wallpaper with dark pictures! And many more great new enhancements!
Just one flaw - I can't view my "Notes" in small font anymore - but its ok.
I use Nokia's pc suite regularly to connect my laptop with my 6230 and the arrangement has worked pretty well so far. The only downside is that the standard 32mb card proved inadequate so an upgrade was inevitable. I've upgraded to 512 mb and can now store countless pictures and scores of mp3 tunes and dozens of videos. I'm thinking of a 1 gig card next. With bluetooth, a data cable quite unnecessary as even the largest files can be downloaded in mere seconds. But the phone has to be "paired" with a bluetooth compatible pc or laptop first. You can also attach a bluetooth-to-usb device to make the pc/laptop compatible. To "pair", turn on the computer, switch on phone, go to "connectivity" on the phome menu, select "bluetooth" and turn it on, next go to "paired devices" and select "Connect" with the highlighted device. An indicated confirmation is then displayed after which you can begin transferring files using the pc suite. An alternative is to right click on the file being transferred, select "send to" and then click on the name of your phone which appears as the destination. I have not had much success installing applications, but you can check out the nokia website for more help.
yes you can connect your phone to pc suite using bluetooth, the single thing that you can't do with your bluetooth is to upgrading your firmware(for that you need a cable)
hi, the problem which i am facing is that i'v installed Nokia PC suite on my pc but i dont have a data cable, i tought that it may connect to pc suite through bluethooth dongle but its not wotking on it. Is it possible to connect my handset to pc suite through bluetooth ??? and also plz tell me what more applications can i install on my n6230 & where to find them ??
