To clear things up, the ascending ring tone for this phone would be rather normal as I just noticed my old phone; the Nokia 3610, also does the same thing when it's being set up to its maximum level for ringing.
Anyways, does anybody know if the firmware v03.50 exists or not? I haven't got a reply yet.
I am asking this question here on 6230i forum because I don't want biased, pro-k750i stories. I want to know, seriously, is k750i really that bad? So many people have reported freezing and joystick problems. Are these problems real and if yes, are the later releases of k750i also with these problems? May be SE has included their latest firmware with later releases?
6230i, is it possible to tell the firmware version or a release date of 6230i by looking at the box? I am asking because I assume, Nokia would fix software problems with 6230i in later releases, like the ascending ring tone? Or do I have to download updated firmware manualy to fix this?
Guys, i need o get a new phone soon, then two main options are Nokia 6230i and Sony Ericsson K750i.
Most of the reviews i've read are on the negative side for nokia and they all advise K750i, however a lot of them had problem with its directional pad, as they say it brakes a lot.
What do u guys think?
After a long time i am posting again. Seen a few users also named Paul over here. Man NokiaMia, good to see you still posting. Couldn't get hold of the adapter you're talking about. How does it look actually, sleek or bulky???
so many problems.when a msg comes it is saved in the sim.sim can hold only 40,so i have to move into the phone.ringing volume not loud as sony ericsson does.when i set ring volume level 5,it starts from level 4 then louder to 5.so bad.is that normal?or just mine having problems?someone plz help me.
For giz wandering about the size of the memory cards - there is not a problem - the game is, that the size is reported by multiplying the ammount of bytes to 1000 instead of 1024 - thats why 128mb card is 128*1000*1000 mbtyes instaed of 128*1024*1024 - the same is valid for the hard disks too. So don't warry - it's normal.
the sound quality from loud speaker is good, quite clear and acceptable. however there may be problems hearing the low bass when music is soft but i guess this is normal for this kind of loudspeaker.
i dont think there will be problem reading the screen under sunlight because from what i know the screen is brighter than the 6230. the problem is the brightness cannot be adjusted if u do find it a little too bright at night.
the all memory cards are like that. u cannot expect to have a full 128MB space available on a 128MB card. so is a 256MB mp3 player, u will not be able to see a full 256MB available.
u can use 1GB MMC. but i heard that some brands of MMC dont work, but not sure which one. u dont need to use RSMMC or DVRSMMC for this phone.
u can try using a usb memory card reader, plug this to a PC and use it to format the MMC. maybe the phone itself is not able to format a MMC of 1GB size. from what i read u should format it to FAT(16) not FAT32. hope this helps.

Whats thw quality of the mp3/radio play back through the loud speaker??? I know on my 7610 its shocking
