This phone is intended to be used with only BL-5C batteries. So no luck in using other batteries, it may damage the phone.
Good to see you back again.
Good on your report too.
If battery is the problem, can BL6C(new one coming in the N series,Eseries) be used to solve this issue? Will the same be compatible.?
the Nokia 6230i plays mp3 stereo fully. Its sound is one of the best in these days's phones .So don't worry.
No you can't lock any file or folder in this phone. You can only password protect the MMC, that too only other people can't use your MMC in their phone or extract data from it. Bye.
Good to see you back again Pinak. So did you get the phone?? Bye...Peace.
the display is one of a kind. it is very sharp and crisp. the mp3 sound kills other phones. the memory can get full. iam using a 1gig mmc.the music player and radio are good. i belive its the best phone on the market that is not a (symbian) phone so u dont have to worry about bugs!!!!!
Suddenly, I found myself lost with no posts seen on the front page. hehe..
Tested NOKIA 6230i to its fullest:
1. Very good audio quality
2. A Good camera - Compare price with K750 and W800 n stuff
3. Good radio, all in one features.
4. Looks and keypad excellent - I am repeating this.
The only con is that the battery. Take my word. Medium usage 48 hours drain. Heavy usage 42 hours drain. Light usage 60 hours drain. Just because of the heavily beautiful screen.. battery life suffering.
Go for this phone.
ei, i have a question. whenever i use the music player..it does not display the title of the song..any inputs?
assuming the pics on the link was correct, 6233 shall be available within 1st quarter 2006! wow! now i'm really confused which to get 6233 or 3250! or better yet n80 but it's too expensive for me...
EVERYONE get ready for NOKIA 6233! it has much bigger screen (i think it will be 320 x 240 pixels, series 40 3rd edition) and it will support macromedia flash (lite) edition, which means excellent themes, icons, user interface! Other features still to be unknown.. here's the link! you'll a see nokia's next gen phones with macromedia flash lite support! I hope it has 3mp camera!
hey there ...heeelllooooo???can any1 here me ,prob not. oh well has any one seen the new 6230ii its unreal..check it out at all good telecom stores...
crc & co. rocks the house
Can anyone tell me, if battery life is the problem in this (all features included)phone, can the upcoming BL6C batteries of E series be used in this? In that case, will the standby/talk time increase?
Can d 6230i use passwords 2 protect certain files or folders? can some1 anser me pls?
Jags, nothing serious about the software of the SE. I just wanted to say that I am a Nokia user and very loyally speaking I don't like the software of SE or Motorola or Samsung or anything else. They are not as quite user friendly as the Nokia. Thats it. But if you don't have such issues and have the budget then obviously go for W800i. But still Nokia 6230i rocks for me. Peace
Another good news about 6230i. It seems the battery time can reach 5 days (!) if used moderately - just talking, none of the other features used.
Dear fans, and one more question from my side. How can I set regular Internet connection and/or modem settings with this phone over GSM network (not GPRS, this system is not in operation yet in our country) to go Internet?
Oh, sorry, correcting myself to avoid confusion, by "except connection aspect" I mean Nokia's is certainly better, i.e. SE's technological superiority concerns the other features and functionalities not the connection reliability and quality itself.
Praveen, I agree with Paul, it depends on which aspects you treat the most important. However, let me mention another objective "disadvantage" of D500, it is older than 6230i. And by the way, if you do not avoid "frog-style" models, maybe E730 is a better option to consider than D500. I can say for sure its (E730's) video recording quality and maybe also picture taking quality are better than 6230i's. But regarding sound quality, I am sure Nokia's is better, maybe losing only to SE, e.g. K750. And one more disadvantage I don't like with Samsung phones, the speaker for talking and player is the same one, while with Nokia and SE they are separate.
