CrazyFor6230i - i haven't logged in into GsmArena for quite a while. anyway, sorry to inform that the last time i used EDGE was last year on my 6230. i've wireless broadband at home and has since stopped using EDGE/GPRS (it's too expensive in comparison to broadband). i've read a recent article in a magazine where 6230i was used for EDGE connection via BT on a Toshiba laptop - the reviewer found no flaws. a fact u shld know is: check if yr area has EDGE coverage with yr telco. usually EDGE is only provided in big cities - whereas other areas only have 'normal' GPRS coverage.
the unimaginable has happened.... i seemes to have forgotten my memory card password.. n ive been tryin to crack it for d past one day.
i have 3 phones like this and not one of them work perfectly turn 0ff and inn by himself so ... it's not the nokia that was before and a verry strange fact ! all the new nokia starting with new software and screens with 65,k have a lower volume of radio (2 volum lines) lower than old nokia like 7210.7250,6610,6610i,6220 and 5100. why ?
I have had this fone for about 2 months. i found my first disadvantage this week. why cant i look at peoples files on my bluetooth? i know the samsungs can. :(
I read your reviews very carefully over the year and I have read all the other comments about 6230i as well, I have finalized for 6230i upto 95% (It beats all Nokias hands down) inspite of N91s 6681s ... and others..., simply because it packs in the maximum features possible and is safe from future viruses because it does not have a Symbian OS. But the only thing which was not discussed in the complete 1 year and above reviews is -
How does the 6230i perform in terms of its Class 10 GPRS-EDGE as compared to Class 6 GPRS-EDGE of say Nokia 7260. I searched all the internet but not a place where I could find the benchmark of Nokia's EDGE Download performance which is the actual download speed available to a person when he connects to the internet and downloads say a 5 MB file from the internet through 6230i.

hi guys, i have 6230i, why i cannot install a program or themes that have a extension file of (.sis) and when im trying install, it says un supported format. unlike the 6600,3230,6230 are all working. is there a solution for this? help me pls. thank u very much.
I bought 6230i and im really satisfied with the performance and its great value for money.
nice phone, but having ringing probs, some calls are not always recieved even with full signal.message says the person youre calling is unavailable, strange that 1. Dosent appear to be a network prob. For those of you having battery duration probs throw the supplied charger away and dig out the original type acp-7x. it has a lower charge rate and voltage 3.7v-355ma and as with rechargable batteries lower rate charge = longer duration.Makes a big difference.
No matter what version of Nokia PC Suite I use I CAN'T get the Multimedia Player to open any MP3 files. Whenever I try to open an MP3 file Windows XP reports an error and ask if I would like to send a report. The strange thing is that it opens VIDEO files (MPG, AVI etc.)easily and converts them to 3GP easily.
All I need to do now is find a way to get it to work with AUDIO files. I want to convert MP3 files to AAC files.
Hy guys, i have a N 6230i V 03.30 and I wanna now whitch is the latest software for it, and what are the upgrades it has? THZ a lot!
hi guys.i wonder if anyone has the same problem as i have.i've just bought a 6230i dell phone.thei have to charge the battery each 36-48 hours.is that normal?or i have to chamge the battery?
if u wish to use your phone as an mp3 player, buy 6230i. 3230 sounds is mono and horrible(when using the headset earphones)! but 3230 radio sound is not tt bad.note that 3230 dont have dedicated volume control button.
3230 is series 60 and is able to installed more applications. u can also copy and paste text. but it seems that sms cannot be store on the sim card, only in phone memory.also,3230 dont support animated wallpaper.
if u wish to be able to attach camera flash enhancement, then buy 3230 as i dont think 6230i support it.
3230 cannot support voice recordings longer than a minute and the psiloc extended recorder application doesnt seem to have a version for 3230 yet.
the media player(not music player) in 6230i cant seems to rewind or forward i dont know if future fw update will solve this. also u cant play midi files in music player. but 6230i is the only nokia series 40 i know who support 64 chord polyphonic ringtone(other 6280 etc).
generally if u dont listen to mp3 on your phone at all i think 3230 would be a gd choice if u dont mind its bigger size
