and vodaben: The phone plays .3GP video files encoded with the latest MPEG4 codec. Not .AVI and not .MPG files.
The best program i've found is ImToo 3GP Converter.
The best quality the phone will play is:
176x144 pixel resolution.
128 kbits/sec quality.

my phone can suport:
25 frames per seconds and 300 kbits/sec quality, my converter is xilosoft 3gp converter

        Guys!!
After two weeks of use, the battery life sure shows an improvement. Initially it would fall down to 1 bar on the second day and now on the third day the battery still shows (approximately half the battery charge.)

                Hey blade,
dude the phone cannot play .avi files. I also tested it. I found a mpeg4 converter on the web but in vain. some softwares say they can convert avi or mpg or 3gp to mpeg4 which is supported by the phone. So the bottomline is my phone can only play the .3gp format videos. Thats it. In the N90 reviews (if I am not mistaken)in gsmarena there were some demonstration of the phone in mpeg4 formats. So I downloaded them and shifted to my phone but still it say unsupported file format. Don't understand where the problem lies.

                    Hey Guys,
I have a nokia 6230i, recently my phone went in to a hang state and then i have a problem that i dont hear anything without using a headset and thats because if i remove the headset my phone is still in the headset mode. If i use the loudspeaker, i hear the voice echoing. I tried reseting the phone to factory default. Sometime the phone when i switch on goes in to a local mode or test mode. I am not sure if anyone has a similar problem. Pls help me resolve this issue.

                    thnx in advance

                    Rajesh

Sounds like T-mobile don't support it, so they replaced the menu item with something they could make some money off.
a nokia service centre could update your software, they might charge you for it.

my phone goes "gallery", "media", "push-to-talk", "organiser" in the main menu.

                        yo diner

go ahead get it checked man.. some operators do add their own links as standard when u get a mobile from them. i had a se t610 before the 6230i n tat mob had a useless link in the menu itself from my operator. but i had it removed. n since ptt is a feature of the phone itself no matte wat,u should have it. better get it checked, sure they can replace it for u.

                        cheers

push to talk is not available on all networks.
if it IS available on your network, then you need to get the settings for it. Just like GPRS or MMS.
