Hi everyone!
My phone have upgraded to 512Mb memory card, and I've copied 'wmv' movie file to my phone but it cant play that file. After that I've used the "WMV to AVI MPEG VCD SVCD DVD Converte" to converte it to "avi", but my phone still can not play the converted files. So,Does my phone have problem or Are those files not the format file of the phone? Thank you very much in advance for your answering my silly question!

    To Brett,
DKU-2 cable actually doesn't need a driver to be installed as its driver comes with the PC Suite software only. What version of PC-Suite are you currently using?? If you are using an older version then try to get a newer version like 6.5.12 from the Nokia website. Uninstall the older version and then install the new one. Keep the cable unplugged. After installation double-click the icon of pc-suite on the taskbar and click the get connected button. After that follow the onscreen instructions.I think it should work.(Before this and after installing the software right-click on the pc-suite icon on the taskbar and click on manage connections, a window will open. If you see a DKU-2 option try selecting it. Before all this connect the cable to the usb port. If the cable is detected its well and good, if its not then try following the method outside the brackets)

            Hi guys,
Bought nokia 6230i yesterday. I had read most of the user reviews in this forum and about the bugs. So far the phone has been fine. No ascending ringing problem, as the phone starts at volume 3 or 4 rings for 2 seconds & climbs up to 5. And no problem with the sms tone as well. Alarm tone is ascending though. It takes almost 12 seconds for the alarm to come up to the maximum level(even then volume is less but still ok). have not found any other bugs till now.
My special thanks to Kay & Wannabelean.

            firmware version 3.3

Harry, DKU-2 cable will be available easily in the market, no hassle at all. You can use a Nokia original cable or go for a non-Nokia one. You can always buy it from a suitable e-shopping sites but I would suggest you rather buy it from the market as you can check the piece. If the cable is fine as soon as you put it in the pop-port the phone will show you a message that data enhancement is connected. The datacable does not come with the standard package but I think you have got the MMC, didn't you???

Can't believe 3230 is still a MONO MP3 Player and put into a latest model.

                      Harry,
With this phone there are a lot of ways to transfer mp3 files to your phone from the computer. The quickest and most easy method is to use a card reader and transfer the files to your memory card. This is a pretty fast way of transfering files.

Again you can buy a DKU-2 datacable and install PC-Suite software in your computer and then start transferring the files from the computer to the phone and vice-versa. This procedure needs your phone to be switched ON during the data transfer and no hassle in taking out the memory card and all that.I am personally using a non Nokia DKU cable and its working just fine.

Then you have the option of Bluetooth. For this you must have a Bluetooth dongle. This procedure is fast and easy but I don't recommend it to transfer bigger files. Now its upto you which method you want to take. Post if you have any further queries.

Sandip, I really have no idea about your first question, maybe upgrading the firmware should do the trick. As for your second query, yes inside a room with low light the viewfinder does show moving horizontal lines, I also experience this. Though it looks bad, it does not affect the pictures taken. Now comes the radio part. Most Nokia phones (I think all of them) need the handsfree to be connected to the pop-port as the hands-free is equipped with an antenna. So you just cannot hear the radio without connecting the hands-free. As for your fourth question, as I told earlier, you may get rid of the first problem with a firmware upgrade. My one has v.3.30 and it does not have that problem of clicking sound when the handsfree is connected...

I just brought Nokia 6230i after a very long wait...and i must agree that the wait was worth. It has good camera, better sound, fully loaded too and at very decent price. All those comparing to SE750i must also see the price. All those sayin poor camera must then by a digicam...I am satisfied with it as a cell phone.
But i think i have few bugs and i am lookin for all you guys to suggest me...
My N6230i has firmware 3.25,manufactured in May 2005 in China.I am in India.
                              The problems/issues are:
1)When i go through menu with handsfree connected i hear distinch click sound after every changin of menu option....this click sounds comes after the polyfonic sound.
2)In room with low natural light i can see flickers across display like one seen on CRT Displays when view on TV.
3)I cannot listen radio without connectin handsfree.I can use "speaker" for radio but thats only when i have handsfree connected. So does i have any option of listenin radio in speaker option without connectin handsfree??
4)Is worth upgrading firmware from current one v3.25??
Other than these issues i am completely satisfied with this cell as it also does other work + basic phone i.e. clickin good pictures,radio,bluetooth.video,recording,MP3 etc etc....now only can i answer from u guys for my 4 queries....plz answer fast.

`Avatar` has a comercial adv. Maibe he works for a reseller. A phone should work as a communication device, not as mp3 player. Buy a portable mp3 player or a digital camera instead.
                                - dust comes through the right speaker.
                                - you cannot atach bigger files to email application.
                                - if you get out from an option from email app, you have to restart it.
                                - you cannot install any kind of apps that works on other `series 40` phones.

thanks 4 ur reply... I think the problem is from the mp3 files, because I experience this error too in my computer speaker and my car stereo... but not so annoying maybe because covered by subwoofer bass =P

hmmm... 1 more question... Does the opening game music on "Space Mahjong" is louder than "Street Race"'s opening music? I'm afraid this is because I often listen music on the phone's loudspeaker at max volume...

I don't know does listening using loudspeaker with max volume too often will damage the loudspeaker?

sorry 4 my bad english =)

TO Pjz, yes I have also experienced the horizontal lines when indoor but only when the lights are low,I repeat the lights are low. I haven't played with the equilizer yet as I am happy with the default settings. I will look into it and if any problem arises you'ii surely hear from me again.Peace.

Hi there i just bought a 6230i just a few hours ago, im just wondering
whenever i would listen to the radio and presaved music the sounds only emitts very low, considering its already at levle 5 but i did even put the equalizer to the max still same result
but whenever i would listen to the default message tones the sound is ok and
is very loud at level 5.

Am i missing something to configure or the phone i bought is defective!?
pls help me so i could return it back to the store today thanks!
