    @haroon

    There is no way you can play N-gage games on the S40 platform. Although I'm not sure, the chances of you finding a gameboy emulator is very low for S40 devices

      @pig

      No man. It works fine. The 6230i is a great phone sans the alarms and tones problem which makes it compeletely useless. Whether its good or not for you is a decision you'll have to make. If you can settle with volume 4 ring then its a fine phone. There are other things Nokia has overlooked with this phone. They are not problems but for some unknown reason Nokia has not included them in this phone.

      1. You call not send mass sms...There is no way to send a message to a list(contact group) of people.No firmware update will change this( If you need a confirmation, post a message here because a Nokia expert has given this information). So dont assume that it will be included in the future. This has been a standard feature in Nokia phones for more than two years now. So all of you who want to send "Happy New Year" or anything else to the hundreds of your friends and family your in for a major dissapointment because you have to manually send them one by one.

      2. There is no option to delete all sms delivery reports. Again, this has been a standard feature in Nokia phones for more than two years now.

      3. Only 50 contacts can be assigned to a user group. A friend of mine has assigned 150 contacts to a group on his 6230.

      4. When you type a long sms message and when you are about to review it by going on top, the phone reboots. I dont remember exactly how it happened but it did happen twice and its an issue being discussed by most 6230i owners. If you want more info on this, post a message and I'll let you know exactly on how to crash it ;)

      That sums it up all

        2 questions

        does the 6230i play ngage games? cam you modify it via programs to do so?

        is there a way of saving the game files to the mmc card and opening via applications(collection) or game menu as mine is full and i would like to add tons of games to my mmc but cant open drectly.

        pps. is there a gameboy emulator for the 6230i? does it play full screen 208x208? also are the roms accessible if saved to mmc card?

        please email me on har786@hotmail.com thanks

            Dude you dont know if its an issue or not probably because you are probably from a western country. In India, life is noisy and even worse I work in a noisy environment. I have employees giving me missed calls because they are not authorized to make outgoing calls. Intentional missed calls usually last for a sec or two. This stupid POS starts working after the 4th second or so. So dont the phone is completely ok and reliable. All of these are very valid complaints. Do you want to know how to crash the 6230i phone? Email me and I'll let you know. I've bought this phone for a reason. Its because I love its features the mp3 player and camera. I still do love them but I cant keep this phone because it lacks basic functionality. I've been a Nokia fan all along until this incident. I can tell one thing for sure that Nokia have the biggest mistake by saying that they will launch 40 phones this year. When that happens what happens? Quality assurance and important testing goes for a toss and its visibly showing now. The 3230 is ridden with bugs as well and lets not forget the 6680. My friends own these phones and I know the hell they are going with. One thing is very clear. Nokia phones should be avoided in the year of 2005.

                  I have a Nokia 6230i and i have been problems with it since the day i got it. Besides the regular problems with the ring tones (ascending when set to ringing,low volume for messages and too soft keypad tones), i'm having problems with the display. When i switch on the phone the display shows white streak like vertical lines on the black background and then its normal. i live in New Delhi, India. i have given the handset to the service and after 3 weeks they say that the lines are like this on all 6320i sets. the person says that this happens even for other sets like 6600,N-gage,3230. Well i have a 3650 set but that does not have this problem. Does any one else in India or elsewhere also has this problem on the 6230i. Now my phone has come up with another new problem, it keeps switching off itself. The service person have withheld the phone and i'm trying to get nokia to replace the set. The set was made in china and was manufactured in April 2005. I've hardly used the phone for 2 days and already its at the service. As per my view these seem to be hardware related problems and not the firmware. I've updated my firmware from 3.25 to 3.3 but no change in the problems. What is your opinion about my handsets problems are they hardware related or firm ware related. I just can't think what to do, if the nokia people don't do anything about it then i think i may have to sue Nokia for it.

                    The 6230i arrived about a week ago in South Africa...Was one of the first to receive one...GREAT phone no probs so far, sound is loud and great quality!!!Obviously a longer lasting battery would have been nice.But just charge it when you get home...

                    Thx Nokia

                              I've just own the 6230i yesterday, after the worries over those messages shown on this site. It works fine, I've also noticed(after advised by Nokia)that many "problems" are actually not & it just because "user" dosen't know how to operate the multi feature phone.....anyway, just a word on the ringtone again, the "soft" for a few seconds are actually designed to protect the speaker WHEN in volume-Level 5 ONLY. Its indeed a good phone at this time, worth buying.....

                                  I have compared this phone with lots of other brands and model and found this very good in terms of features and design though the display is small but the resolution makes up for it. All the features of this phone can be matched with the upcoming models. Camera is average but is ok. Anyway I cant compare a phone camera with a dedicated digital one.

                                      Thank you Nokia for teaching me the difference between ascending and ringing. SHAME ON YOU NOKIA. This is absolutely the lamest ever explanation I've ever come across in my whole life. Strangely guys, this feature is only a "special" feature of the 6230i. Although there have been newer models from Nokia, none of these new phones have this so called "special" feature. Funny this is that the 6230i manual does not have a mention of this extra "special" feature. I will not rest until I get a full refund or model replacement and will even take Nokia to court if I have to. Even if I do get a replacement, I will sell it away right away and never in my life will I deal with Nokia again.

                                      Enough is enough with Nokia. This is what happens when you bloody only think of money and nothing else. They've lined up 40 phones for this year for what? and how can a company achieve that? By throwing out testing, quality checking and other important procedures of manufacturing out of the window. Sure all phones have some problems or the others but most of you will see that Nokia does not even have one phone which is not bug ridden in this whole year of 2005.

                                      Absolutely disgusted Nokia customer

                                        The mp3's are almost close to crystal clear and same goes for the ringtone.it is quite loud.i got this phone for a week now with a 512 rs mmc and i have no probs besides the battery last 2days.
