I recently changed my SEZ600 good but old moblie with new nokia6230i with the firmwere ver. 3.30 all your mentioned ascending problems seem gone In last 10 days of using this product I do face such problem ?

M M C!!!!! anyone who tells you that nokia MMC card is only ok up to 512, is talking from their behinds. I have a NOKIA 6230I and the MMC i am using is 1 GIGABYTE. Currently i have about 6 or 7 complete albums on it, which is fantastic. I use mine at work when there is no TV or radio,as the speaker volume and quality is good enough to compete with some very small radios.Have been using Magix ringtone maker to convert full albums into managable sizes for the phone, and it has worked faultlessly. The lines on the screen on startup I also get, but am not aware how I check my firmware version if anyone could enlighten me then that would be greatly APPRECIATED

Can anyone tell me how to update my firmware for this phone? Mine is currently 3.25.

Rich, nothing helps. Like Paul said, it is the strange problem for NOKIA. I hate it. Even if you use "ringing" not "ascending" it seems doing same strange thing: about 3-4sec quietly and ascending like mad, it is so strange. I sell my 6230i today, and buy another phone. Don't buy this phone, if you don't want this strange problem toi happen with all your ringtones & sms tones (this is Nokia 6230i polyphonic and mp3 bug). Believe me, you will regret it. Good luck!

Hi Justinovicius, how if u put it to "ringing" instead of ascending, as seems like ascending tone will only starts fm soft to loud......

guys don't buy it, it doesn't worth the money compare camera & video quality with k750 and b impressed. I have one & i whant 2 sell it, not 2 good. I also have the ascending problem, try to make some space so the phone could fiind the mp3 faster.

The ascending ringtone problem is not only with MP3s but polyphonics also. Don't know why this strange thing happens in this remarkable phone. Really STRANGE...

Paul, I have read that you have the same problem about ascending mp3 when it is associated with a ringing/sms tone? If it is Nokia game, I swear, I hate NOKIA!!! If it is only a problem, that we could solve, It could make me happy for this time. Who knows anything about solving this problem, please write. Otherwise, I am regreting buying this 6230i, and I will sure sell it. Thanks for your ideas.

Hello! I have a problem with my Nokia 6230i, when I listen to mp3 the sound is good, but when I associate mp3 with a ringing tone, or sms tone it begin doing non-sense for some seconds it play too quietly and nothing helps when I try different options, it made me nervous about this phone, can you explain me what is happening?? Help me nokia fans, please!

my name is sukhbinder, i saw your posting on gsmarena for the nokia 6230i.I agree that the 6230i is a very good phone but with a lot of bugs. Even i'm having problems with my 6230i. The day i got it the display shows white lines on black background at swith on. the ring tone always remains ascending when at maximum volume. there is a problem with the message tones and keypad tones also. I have updated the firm ware to 3.3 but still the same problems. i gave the phone for the second time to nokia care and they said that the display will have to be replaced. I've mailed a number of times nokia care for the replacement but they have not responded to it. i got my handset on 9 may and it has been with me for about 2-3 weeks and rest at service. Can u guide me in how i should contact nokia. I'm living in new delhi, should i call the main office of nokia multimedia (as it was the importer address on my phone box). i was provided with a defective handset right fromthe start, at times i think i'll have to go to the consumer courts. I'll be very obliged if u can offer some assistance.
